Great boat very nice, so swift trawler? Higher cruising speeds like 12 or 17 knots? Fuel usage up a bunch or not because of the hull? Guess I should google it.

Hello, yes it's a semi-displacement planing hull design. You can cruise at displacement speed for efficiency or 17 knots if you need to get moving. I went to the Netherlands and checked these boats up. For me, all Saffier boats are daysailer. They are the PORSCHES on water. They are fast like motor boats.

Hi Sean, is it my impression the boat prices are increasing so much in the past two years?? A boat like this used to be sold for 200 / 250k…and now we are talking about 400K…I understand about the inflation aspect overall…but it seems this is much more aggressive in the boat market, whats your perspective on that? Thanks!

Hello! The Oceanis 40.1 is a new model currently in production, it is a big boat at 42'3" LOA. New boat prices went up more than normal in 2021 but less than normal in 2024. Used boat prices have been similar. This boat being a 2022 is a great value, it is a larger and a newer design than the previous Oceanis 41.1 (41.1 is 40'9" LOA). Is the 41.1 the previous model you are referring to?

There’s one of these at the marina I’m at. They are a real head turner for a trawler. Always wondered what they are like inside. What a boat - I love how they aren’t posing boats but just solid, spacious and very well equipped.

I got the drop down table. My kids love sleeping in the fly bridge, they take a mini projector and play video games all night without bothering the adults.

Is the joystick the throtle??...got forward and reverse levers but how do you throtle??

I own an Antares 11 and I have some plusses and minuses to report. It is very easy to use and the joystick function makes docking a breeze. It handles very well in calm and rough seas - had it out in 6' swell and it was fine. Great speed with twin merc 300's. Great vessel for fun on Narragansett Bay environs. That said, there are some real flaws. First and most inmportantly, quality is not like the old Beneteaus. The company moved production to Poland and the quality is shaky. Leaky overhead, misaligned cabinets, A/C works great in cooler weather but completely fails to keep up with hotter temps (we're in RI which isn't exactly 'hot weather'). Even the toilet seat was dielivered in the wrong size. One design flaw is that the helm is very hot in warm weather - zero wind flow and no windows to allow wind flow. BTW - it is not exactly cheap either. Also, Beneteau completely eliminated ANY direct contact and all complaints/concerns must go through the dealer. It is impossible to complain about a bad dealer to Beneteau HQ

@@Matt-hw6so Yes, I think I would. Beneteau started up a new factory during COVID and there were quality issues. I felt many of those, but they have been worked out and it's a fun boat.
