It is usually a tiller that runs in the opposite direction of a conventional. The difference being that there is a grate that stops the Stones, make them drop and the soil is put on top. You can make good sowing soil, especially for grass. But it is not able to form beds like other machinery.

Have smallest version of the flail,and it is a great tool to use,on long or short material

Using the small version with a 16hp twin cylinder Yanmar,and its a great piece of kit, cutting four foot high thistles,docks,bramble,ragwort,etc, 👎 to the ground.Easier in two passes.

will a 0.85m Winton flail cut down docks, thistles, nettles and brambles? I've heard flails just strip leaves off and leave docks standing

This particular flail mower has heavy hammer blades which allows it to cut through grass or small saplings and everything in between. Will this flail mower handle clumps of field rushes when being towed by a compact tractor with a 30hp PTO at a speed of 1 to 3 mph?
