Thank you Rob for this video!. Mark Buckholz in Flagstaff, yup still racing a bit even though I have been retired from working for some time. I have a new '25 450xcf and so far (only a little time) I do like the new spring forks. My '23 300XC has been a great bike, best I have ever owned in many decades of racing and riding. But, I do want to switch to 6500 or 7500 inserts and retire from the air fork on the '23 300XC, even though it is pretty good.... But my '25 450xcf has reminded me that I do like closed chamber spring forks a bit better. I will call you next week. Cheers! Glad you are doing so well with your excellent suspension business!

Very good no nonsense and informative video. Just purchased a 2022 350 EXC-F and will probably need it lowered. So I'll likely be a new customer.

I've always been a firm believer in balance in suspension using the same method, but on an ATV. It's also worth noting your rebound is very important to have balanced during that check! Good video

Great explanation of the 2 systems, I have noticed nitrogen pressure loss in bladder shocks before and also migration into the shock body. I feel you should go with the bladder system BUT be sure to check the Gas Pressure as you have said at similar intervals. I have a nitrogen tank and convert the needle fillers to Schrader valves because I don't like the WP Racetech filler bolts even though I have the Needle. Some times they leak.

Love the channel and all the information. I believe you mentioned removing the PDS shock from the 24's. I would like to see how you did that. I saw the video for the linkage shock but not the PDS. Is there one and I am missing it?

He's lowered two bikes for me, a 2021 Honda 450 and a 2024 KTM 500 EXC-F. I have a 29" inseam, and range from 210 to 220 with gear. I enjoy the bike so much more now. Both were lowered 70mm and if I would get another bike in the future.. sending it to them. I took my suspension off and sent it in a gun case like suggested, all in roughly $900??. I am sure each case is different, rider weight and how he tunes it for you will affect the cost. That could be my shock he is doing in the video, timing is right.

When respringing for heavier/lighter rider… are you swapping with the new straight rate style or are you putting progressive springs on? Ktm switched these to a straight rate in 2024

You said to go 1/2" shorter than the lowering kit. Example 50mm = 2", so cut off 1 1/2". Then you marked and cut 2 1/2" off ???
@MotoLabDirtBikes
@MotoLabDirtBikes 8 ай бұрын
Yes, 1/2" shorter than the lowering kit. So for 50MM, cut off 1 1/2". If you listen closely at around 1 minute and a half in, I explain that we are doing this one for a 75MM kit, so that is why we are going 2 1/2 " here. Hope this helps!

Lowered bikes do handle better - 100%! Had a 2012 300xcw that I lowered 1½" and the improvement was very noticeable. The only concern when lowering a bike is ground clearance, but for most trail riders that shouldn't be a big deal.

agreed i dont understand when people get all bent up about lowered bikes. at 6'2 with a 34" inseem i would prefere it if my EX300 was an inch lower. i cant think of a place where i have been where that 1 inch would make any difference at all, and if that 1 inch did get me hung up somewhere it wouldnt matter cause im not racing i can take my time and try again if im so inclined to get over whatever obstacle it may be.

I now have 6 hours on my 24 300 XC-W. Of course you hooked me up with fork and shock springs as well as my 1 inch lowering kit. I have to say, I am really enjoying this bike. Coming off a 17 and 21 300 XCW. The power is absolutely perfect. Not sure why people say it was lacking. So yeah, in love with the bike so far. May send to you for some valving later to see if I've left anything on the table before race season ramps up in February. Thanks again as always for your help Rob.

Rob helped me with my bike about 5 years ago. I am one of those riders that is way out of the norm. 275 lbs. I have been riding for more than 50 years expert rider. My inseam is 29” so get my leg over the bike with out falling over is tricky at best. We dropped my 2009 KTM 400 XCW 2” and that was enough. I still have 12” of ground clearance so at my age that is more than enough. It works great. I actually think it handles better than stock because it lowered the center of gravity.
