Hi , the first time I saw the Scottish canal ,WAS when I went to the Shetland island's .we had coffee and sat and watched the boats . Thank you for sharing your day .😊😊😄😄👍👍

I think its about four years since I last visited. A lovely sunny day, me and my girlfriend parked up on the beach near the public notice board, spent a few hours there just watching the scenery. She was in poor health and couldn’t walk far. Gave us both a lot of pleasure for the afternoon. We didn’t want to leave.

What an incredible engineering feat. I drove several longboats while we lived in England and it was on vacation. I didn't mind the locks at all; every one was another challenge, but if I had to do it daily, it would get old. This invention is incredible, saving so much time. Well done, Scotland! Wonderful video btw.

Thanks for posting - I have followed the construction of this line since its inception when a few feet of track first appeared at the top - now the loop round the house. I have also ridden the railway many times while I lived in the village, and over the years, Mike became a friend. One of the two disappointments of moving was not being able to visit this line when open, and the other the steam activity on the main line round the area.

I'm glad that they've changed the 45562 cabside numbers to 45627 but it's a shame that the jube hasn't been able to haul any railtours this year as it hasn't got air brakes fitted and the engines owners can't use MK1 and early MK2 coaches at present. Wonder though if we'll get to see this double heading with sister 45593 Kolhapur however as 45593 is now owned by David Smith and a Carnforth resident.
