Actually that looks a lot like a controller for a portable DVD player with NES emulator built in. No other controller works on those devices and vice versa.

@18:00 I think Nintendo's success largely stems from their price bracket. The library of games is of decent quality compared to Microsoft and SONY, but as you saw, their price is nearly $200 cheaper and semi-mobile. The DS was also incredibly popular for the same reasons, though DS's shovel-ware reached a high that not even the PS1 could match and the ease of piracy with DS was a major factor for poorer countries.

@13:00 SONY didn't want to spend the extra $3 on a specialized chip to emulate PS2 games on the PS3. Nothing too serious. Also, the value of the PS3 wasn't the ability to play PS2/1 games at all. It was the cheapest Blu-Ray player on the market, with most Blu-Ray players being anywhere from 800-1000. The price decrease came from them reducing their manufacturing costs along with Blu-Ray players becoming cheaper in price. PS5 Pro has no clear stranglehold on a feature, making it extra dumb of them to produce. It's a great reminder that Japanese companies are more out of touch with the fanbase than Microsoft. At least Microsoft knows how to make a comfortable controller and prioritize what games to make exclusive, regardless of our hatred for exclusivity.

I just ordered one for 25 bucks shipped. If It can play Gameboy then it will be well worth it. If it can play GBA I'll be very happy with it. Sure I'd like it to be streamlined, it has a pointless circle pad/ analog stick thing and a few too many buttons. These things are so cheap, it's a disposable emulation machine. A toy. I don't get why people dog it for what it can't do, I wanna know what it CAN do. I'll find out for myself in a few days.

I wonder if you could use something like GBxCart to write your own ROM onto this cart?

Ah man this sucks, get them exchanged. I got 4 of their modules (maths, plats quad vca and lfo) and they are working strong. They worked well for a starter kit but I do wish I had gone all with more Doepfers instead.

shame. if the delay is purely digital you might get more value from a dsp platform module, electrosmith based for example.

The delay effect is not the typical delay effect that give you seconds of delay. A lot of people do think it does not work :-) The effect is more subtle. Try to modulate it.

It's obviously a shame that such a Rom hacking resource is gone. The creator's post about the shutdown stated files would be upload to ARCHIVE. I looked into the reason behind the shutdown from the words of the creator and others and it's pretty convoluted. I don't know whom to believe.
