Try uninstalling the already installed pyopengl and pyopengl-accelerate first. Then follow the steps in the video. In the video we use unofficial pyopengl which includes glut inside it to install. So if you try to install without uninstalling first, nothing will happen.

try uninstalling existing pyopengl installation, and follow the video steps again. pip uninstall pyopengl

@@hiki9081 install pyopengl externally by downloading whql files, not directly via "pip3 install pyopengl". this was the whole point of the video haha! i explained it in video and in some other comments as well! glad you found the way!

Hey Naseem, need advice, I'm a SE CSE undergrad and have CG subject with OpenGL to be studied and used. My teacher is telling us to install Ubuntu for OpenGL, what do you think is Windows sufficient for OpenGL or Ubuntu? As we have maybe introduction to game development with OpenGL, so will Windows be sufficient for this, and will this python library be sufficient for this?

Hi Brian! Thanks for watching the video. If your professor is recommending Linux, prolly I recommend it too. From my observations, all these academic courses, especially if you're from India you may find they are teaching it using legacy set of technologies. In my case it was GLUT windowing in pyOpenGL. Those might be still working in Linux, but not in windows. So as you move forward you may have to find alternative ways to solve that. I have certain workflows which I need windows. What I do most of the time is that I use WSL2 when I need to use the Linux environment so that I don't have to reboot. So I would recommend you to try WSL or dualboot. If you fine with taking risks like me, and find interesting to solve problems or finding solution on your own then using windows is totally fine!
