Well I've been a Christian for a long time and most of what I know from the Bible has been through sermons or devotionals or Bible studies but I have never really tried to become Bible literate. Sitting down and reading the Bible is a challenge to me. I'm not a reader. I'm starting to become one but I still need videos to help me. Excellent video. This should have way more views than does. I'm going to share it and watch it multiple times. Thank you.

Thanks so much for your channel and work. I gave my life to Christ Jesus seven years ago from 64 years living as an agnostic, deeply rooted in studying what science has discovered and shared with humanity while trying to find a solid pathway to the Lord. You can imagine how conflicted I've been since that wonderful day, constantly hearing how we must ignore science and rely solely on what the Bible teaches. Well, I cannot do that. And as a leader in my church, leading men's groups and in other areas, these conflicting forces have become way too burdensome. That is until I found your channel. Thanks to your work, I'm praying now that God will help guide me away from useless confliction to total conviction! God bless and thanks again for your work.

So when the tour guide says....' if you love me keep my Commandments in John 14:15'.....you say forget the law and throw out the map?
@ChristianityEngaged
@ChristianityEngaged 25 күн бұрын
Jesus says, “If you love me, you will obey my commands.” [John 14:15] and, “Everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” [John 8:34] Therefore, whenever we disobey God, three things are happening: 1) we are believing a lie that some other way is better than God’s way, 2) we are demonstrating that our love for God is in conflict with our love for something (or someone) else, and 3) knowingly or unknowingly, we are choosing slavery to sin over freedom in Christ. Dear Friend, please do not mistake putting down the map for disregarding His commands. That’s ridiculous! Putting down the map refers to 1) embracing the New Covenant over the Old, and 2) demonstrating obedience through faith in the power of the Spirit rather than obedience through self-righteousness or legalism in the power of the flesh. Jesus is the Tour Guide, and if you abide in Him, He will never lead you into sin. Walk in the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh. [Galatians 5:16] God bless!

But what is the new covenant?
@ChristianityEngaged
@ChristianityEngaged Ай бұрын
The New Covenant is a promise from God to forgive people of their sins and restore fellowship with Him. It is based grace rather than obedience to the law. The New Covenant replaces the Old Covenant, or Mosaic Covenant, which required strict obedience and daily sacrifices to atone for sin. The New Covenant is mediated by Jesus Christ, and His death on the cross is the basis of the promise.

There are 73 books in the Bible - you are missing 7.
@ChristianityEngaged
@ChristianityEngaged Ай бұрын
Dear friend, this video presentation does not include the Apocrypha. The majority of the early church fathers rejected the idea of these books belonging in the Bible. Jerome, the translator of the Latin Vulgate, which later became the official Catholic Bible, included the Apocrypha under tremendous pressure from Rome, despite himself insisting that these books did not belong in the Bible. The books in the Apocrypha were not officially included in the Catholic Bible until the Council of Tent, which took place AFTER the Protestant Reformation. The reformers determined these books did not belong in the Bible, which is consistent with the Old Testament content in the Jewish Bible, though it is organized differently. While our Bibles may differ on these books, Catholic and Protestant Bibles have the same 27 books in the New Testament. Therefore, we are in complete agreement about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God bless you!

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV Bible [1] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; [2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV Bible [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. John 3:16 KJV Bible For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans 10:9-13 KJV Bible [9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. [12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. [13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. John 14:6 KJV Bible Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

God’s spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God (Romans 8:16): The Holy Spirit will never lead us contrary to God’s word. In 1 Corinthians 2:10, God reveals His word by His Spirit; the Holy Spirit searches all things, yes the deep things of God through Jesus. All that the Father has is Jesus’; therefore, the Holy Spirit takes what God reveals to Jesus and shows it to us (John 16:14-15). The Holy Spirit enlightens us with deeper unspoken mysteries of the mind of God, for God will never reveal His mind to a deliberate stranger, but to those who love and obey Him. There is so much more to God’s word than what meets the eye. Jesus acknowledges the Father to be “the kingdom, the power, and the glory.” Forever, Amen.

I'm a Christian myself but the "Church age" you're talking about was never Jesus' plan. The word Church comes from the word Circe who was a minor goddess and sorceress in Greek mythology. The word that Jesus uses in the original texts is Ekklesia, which more closely translates to gathering or assembly, or more literally "to call" as in calling out his people, the believers in Christ. The Church system we have today is built around a Roman system of control and is nothing close to what Jesus called us to do. Even taking on a title of Father or Pastor goes against Gods word. I'm not saying Church is inherently bad, but I believe we should know where these words come from and how we should actually live our lives according to Jesus. A form of Church that would more accurately resemble what Jesus was calling us to do would be Bible study with a congregation of people to read and talk about scripture, not a Pastor standing behind a Pulpit telling you a self contradicting interpretation of scripture that has been passed down by generations of corrupt people.
@ChristianityEngaged

Dear Scott, please consider the period of time we are referring to as more important than the title. One could refer to the “Church Age” as the “age of the Body of Christ” or the “age of the Bride of Christ” or even the “age of the Holy Spirit.” The name we give it is less important. We are referring to the period of time post-Cross where Christ’s followers are filled with the Holy Spirit. God’s presence no longer dwells in temples or tabernacles-it dwells in us! The Church is not a building. We are the Church! By using the term “Church Age,” we are not to implying that church history or even the modern church perfectly resembles God’s model for the early church, in which we see a beautiful representation in the Book of Acts. Hope this is helpful. God bless you!
