I was born in 88 fell in love with rap probably in the mid 90s listening to pac, big, dmx scarface, jay z, nas, outkast etc. When Em came around maybe in like 6th grade 7th grade for me I was hooked. The way Em said shit was just super funny and fire. He instantly became one of my favorites. It wasn't until.like my jr year in high-school when I stumbled across lupe fiasco, lupe provided a fresh style of rap that wasn't polluted with bullshit like hoes drugs guns etc. He surpassed em because the street shit he was rapping about was so positive and uplifting it guided me to be a better young man at a time trap Music had taken over. I gravitated to lupe positive wordplay. Alot of his Older songs still are relevant to what's going on in society today. I know em had songs with messages too but lupe was just different. For buddy to say cole better smh..cole just recently elevated his wordplay within the last few years. Lupe came out the gate with double triple quadruple entendres and rhyme schemes. I highly suggest new lupe listeners to grab lyrics when doing reviews or finding a channel like times nu roman that does image break downs of the lyrics.

Nah I’ve been around enough to be able to tell when someone is actually freestyling or not… there’s differences and crutches in a real freestyle like certain words they’ll overuse, more pauses, etc. but honestly rarely does a good lyricist actually freestyle unless they’re proving a point that they can
