You can buy a de restricted CDI unit but I changed the rear sprocket to a smaller size instead which helped the top speed You can do both at the same time :)

R P not sure, my one has a restricted CDI. So call my one "half restricted" :) But what I did was to change the rear sprocket to a smaller one. Can do about 40-45mph, and 50-55+mph downhill. I believe the fully derestricted would do about 50-55mph, maybe more.

@@transitman546 you could on ebay, for sure. Try searching for LSM 50 as well, as that's basically a JSM 50.

Yes, it is nice, however it is a 2t bike, so needs some care one in a while. And if you are 17+, better to buy 125, if you are on CBT.

MoustachePlayz I believe, change the sprockets, CDI, buy big bore kit and it will do the job. But how to do it? I did not do any of that, so no clue.

You can ride up to 125cc and 15HP if you have a cbt. Just saying, so you better of buying a ybr or a sinnis for 700 quid than buying this for more, even tough its a good bike, it is slow restricted.

+Joe5544 99% that you will do a CBT on automatic bike (scooter), but will be able to ride manual one.

I didn't do it, but i believe you have to change the rear sprocket and buy a different CDI. After that it can do up to 45mph.

i have the same bike, its good if you don't ride it for long periods of time, but if you use it every day and for long periods of time like me the problems start happening. I've put 2689 miles on the clock from new in 5 months. I occasionally go for long rides like 5 + hours, the spark plugs have melted due to the engine getting hot and the bike starts to cut out down hill, i recommend not buying these cheap Chinese bikes and buying something Japanese e.g Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, etc. ( i know they say A.J.S is a brittish company and it was, but it went bust so it was bought out and now the Chinese make them with awful moulded engines that are not reliable).

+Alan Tomkinson (RedBlueBadAls19) I am 185cm and this bike is really comfortable. I cannot sit on a sport bikes, motards are really good for me. It is a good bike for the short journeys, because it is only 50cc.

+Alan Tomkinson (RedBlueBadAls19) 1 litre is like for 2000 miles. There is a special reservoir for it. You don't have to worry about it ;)

it is very good bike,l for commuting (under 10miles). I would not recommend it for the long journeys.

it is good. For first minute you will see the blue smoke. Then when the RPMs goes down, you can ride. The smoke will disapear after 300 yards.

It is good bike for the value of money. In order to ride on it everyday you have to take care about it everyday ;) If you are 17 - i would recommend you buy 125cc.

Great video. But I own an AJS JSM 50cc too, my first bike! (yes I am 16 xD) But I have to say, its awful, when it deciedes it wants to start at least. It cant have below 3/4 of a tank or the fuel wont dribble down, it stalls randomly all the time, usually wont start, and i have had to push it back home numerous times, the bike seems very unreliable, I have changed the spark plug, cleaned out the float chamber. Its just awful, maybe I have a bad one but I dont know what the problem is, I can only imagine bad design, but you do not seem to be having the issue, the temptation to slam my bike to the floor when I stall on a round about (happens a lot no matter what gear) it really starting to get to me aha. @Mike Rozanov

At 16 I wanted to buy 50cc motorcycle, not scooter. JSM 50 is relatively cheap compare to the other 50cc bikes. That is why i have chosen it. We all know that it is cheap Chinese bike. It can run nonraly if you will take care of it like every second XD

Mike Rozanov it's a British company based in Denmark so in theory it should be good quality aha. It's annoying as hell tho, I would kill for a 125 bike!
