Hello! You convinced me to do the kingdom of books lol. I started it a few weeks ago. I am doing what you have done and not stitching the entire background. How did you decide which outlines to do? It looks like on the top you did some of the brown colors and it looks great, which colors did you stitch on top? Or did you just do your own thing on top? This is the first time im really deviating from a pattern and its really rough figuring it out. I definitely need some definition up top though because the white on top is disappearing in my fabric. Thanks for your help!

Brenda, all projects look wonderful. Can you tell me how you like and how it looks stitching blends one color on first cross second on second leg. Think you are doing a Sea picture and frame maybe you Dad made. Can you see blends doing it this way or do you need to mix order in color to see both.❤

Hi Brenda I always love seeing the progress in your projects. You do such beautiful stitching. The kingdom of books is looking wonderful. You always amaze me at what you do. I have been working on kitting up my 25 new starts for 2025 and along with them I have been looking at some smalls for gifts next year. I will be taking a trip to my LNS Stitchery X-Press and will be picking out material and looking at patterns. I always love going through my stash and picking what I want to stitch. I also noticed that they have projects that are coming out just beading in them and no threads. So I will be looking at them alone. My friend told me they have a lot of beading projects on Facebook. The only problem is I don't use Facebook but I have seen them on Etsy. I am thinking about doing a small ornament and see if I like it as a start. Hope you and your family had a Happy Thanksgiving. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat

Go Brenda go! Go Brenda go!! Kingdom of Books!! I resisted for a long while, but every time you showed those fabulous colors, I had to have it. So I did. 😊 I finished it earlier this year (monogamous stitcher here) and I subbed my favorite authors and local library name for the Russian titles on the books. Now looking for a thrifty frame. Love watching your videos! You hold the pieces close to the camera, hold them still and for a nice length of time. 😍

Thank You Kathy! It was a class we took in our old Sampler Guild back in like 2012? I think you have to take the class from her to get the pattern. And I don't think she is teaching anymore.

I think I was the commenter on your last video asking about your cross stitch rotation 😂 My name is Irish so don't let the extra vowels and consonants put you off! It's pronounced like the word "Una". Its taken from the old Irish word úan, which means lamb because I was born on Easter!

I always get a giggle about the runaway camel. That actually happened at a living nativity in the KC area back in 2021! So funny, though hopefully the stitched camel will also safely be recaptured like the live one was. Considering the location was right off I70, which is a crazy busy 6 lane interstate at that point, it could have been a tragedy. Loving the Kingdom of Books. I've really enjoyed watching your progress on that one. And I want to try a Riolis kit - I've heard good things about the fuzzy acrylic floss in those kits. 123Stitch has a sale on a number of them right now, but nothing that screams 'stitch me now' to me. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
@Handworkmaniac10 күн бұрын
Thank You Karla!! I can't believe that actually happened, lol!! I'm so glad it was safe. Yes, definitely try a Riolis kit, I have really enjoyed stitching on mine :)

Hi Brenda, so glad to see another video up - it always makes my day when you post. I do have a question for you, when you stitch 2 threads over 2 do you have any special tricks for getting your thread to lay nice? Do you railroad most of the time? Hugs ❤
@Handworkmaniac10 күн бұрын
Thank You Diane! When I do 2 over 2 I don't railroad the first leg, but I do railroad the 2nd leg (top leg) of the X.
@b.a.blessingstitcher9 күн бұрын
@ I’ll give that a try, I usually just avoid stitching with 2 threads, 😉
