Probably inspired by the Rachmaninoff of the op 23 n 5, in the rhythmic zest of the first section, and in the contrast with the central part, here we have an effective piece with also a certain bohemienne mood that results in a very fascinating way to the ears of your listeners ...bravissimo, excellent Composition!

Beautiful waltz, but...honestly far from being "diabolique"...quite anguished, instead, i would say.

If you could at least put the movement tempos in the description, that would be a grand thing.

Been listening to these pieces and really, this composer is such a find! Kudos to Stephen for making good music and to the performers for being able to conjure up the magic conveyed by the notes in the piece.

If possible, write a couple of lines about this author; on the Internet I found references only to a modern film composer with that name. And here one of two things: either this Concert is an extremely successful and talented stylization, or it was created by some other Stefen Wood.

An appropriate and beautiful redux of a much earlier composition, this reconsideration of heroic themes has been trimmed from its earlier incarnation into a more concise interpretation. Though it references crossing a much different body of water, the heroic themes of ”Rubicon” shine through, sans the middle section of an earlier version.

A gentle thread of remembrance runs through this music, the elegance of Chopin, the understatement of Brahms and Schumann, the naturalistic beauty of Grieg in an irresistible stream of winsome melody.
