Benchmarks means nothing. They are way better than the firesticks. Plus Amazon is about to change they're operating system to VEGA.

I do agree that benchmark scores can be misleading when it comes to streaming. However, it gives you a general idea of the device. if you're planning on gaming on the device, then them scores definitely matter.

Almost 10 year old Apple Tv and Nvedia Sheild have more capability then this so called "Latest" google streamer, shield support DTS and also plex and 10 year old apple tv is same like this google streamer of today. I would buy a nvedia paying double the price then this.

@@Cephasbasictech This are my personal thoughts, see if some company is releasing a new hardware which says "streaming box" today, what I want is the ultimate box which will do the best about just streaming, like give the best picture and sound, support all the formats (dolby, dts, true HD, Imax) which can upscale to 4k from 1080p, play movies from my plex or pendrive, I dont want to see who is at my door like google is going to do(maybe at the door is ok), I dont want anything else. I have an apple tv4k was waiting to replace the same with something new, but google is going to released something in 2024 which the apple and nvedia shield released 10 years ago.

The shield is still more powerful, but I am hearing that do to the lack of updates it's starting to have issues with older TV shows and movies do to no codecs. There is a way to convert the shield from android TV to Google TV which should stay up to date with firmware.

well, the codec issue can be solved with the proper player, but you are right that it is time for a new version. The true issue is the processor needs to be replaced, more storage needed, a better chipset, Wi-Fi 6 or 7, new remote, A.I upscaling, and the full Google TV not Android Tv.

Long time waiting for the upgrade, I bought few of the Chromecast TV dongles for my three TVs back in when they released it around 4 years ago an loving it since I am Google, KZbin TV an KZbin premium member for many years, works great with each other Love the interface and features , this new one is awesome The biggest capacity and chip even better than the shield the best powerful streaming out there at this time alot more capacity AI and all the features is top notch for only $100, I pre-ordered couple of them in Hazel color from the Google store a few days ago going to released end of the next month Can't wait long wait

Which I use as a screen for a s21 ultra that is currently running without a display. I was mainly referring to the terminology used in the video.

The port comes built 3.0. We are just changing that port to an Ethernet connection. If you're using a USB your speeds should be fine.

I doubt that just pointing out that wifi speeds can still vary based on setup in reference to where router is positioned, own router vs isp router, the actual ISP and the data plan being used....have yet to try the ethernet port not too urgent to do so at the moment

What do you need those fast of speeds for though? Mine has a 57 mbps download, and 7 mbps upload, but I watch live tv fine, movies don't buffer...is it more for gaming?

It's really not about if this device is better than the fire stick to a lot of people it's about what device can we go to now that the Amazon operating system is about to change from Android Base. So therefore you would not be able to download any Android based app like you used to. Everyone that has a fire stick will eventually have to upgrade to a different device not name Amazon fire stick because the operating system is going to change. So for this device and the Google Chromecast I think will be an absolute awesome device that a lot of basic streamers can use if they're basically wanting to watch their normal TV like Netflix, etc. Also you can't compare a $200 device (Shield) to a $50 (Onn)... Other than that my guy....Great Video 👍🏾

Mine came with the "deluxe" remote, backlit and with the FreeTV button. Got it a few days ago. There is a video on how to tell by the stock number on the box to tell which remote is inside. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYLKamdjhtmHadE

hey I paid for a premium package made an account. however, I did the IMPlayer but its asking me to add a playlist? where can I get a playlist?....then when i click on playlist its giving me 3 options M3U... XC API..... stalker/MAG and or scan the QR code to add a playlist on the browser. I can it and nothing came up... please help
