you had me until i saw the picture on the site of the "guides" with all that gear on a yacht basically yucking it up over beers. those guys don"t need my 25 bucks, they look just fine. I personally would have had 2 guide/instructors giving a group a safety talk on that homepage. I LOVE you all at sawyer and your product is THE best. good luck in this endeavor. Sincerely, idahobobb

Thanks for the feedback Bob unfortunately we don’t have control over the Guide Across America web site , they are the non profit that is already set up to help real guides. We see the imagery is not good fit for the cause

All Sawyer locks use the mag 70 bronze alloy, high strength but still pliable, so if you crab your oar, it can release from the lock and not break

is the artisan prints a wrap that you install directly over the wood or is it a wrap. Super Cool.

Cool-looking blades! Seemingly, very effective when rowing, too! Why don't you tie the oars to the oar locks?

Same removal technique for a handle that is counter balanced?
@Sawyerpaddlesandoars
@Sawyerpaddlesandoars Жыл бұрын
Yes, the handle is attached by a set screw, so the method for removal is the same.

I’d love to see that stomp box on a more narrow board. I personally find 32” to be a nice width for whitewater.

This was a fantastic video for learning and remembering some of the trade offs with choices for oars! There's actually not much content available for choosing an oar and reviews of oars out there. It would be great if Sawyer could do a series like that. Perhaps some case studies of different rafters and what they like/dislike about oars. What they might change about their oar set up and why. Thanks!

Please do a proper how-to video on rope wrapping your oars. I know a lot of other guides that would benefit from this. The paper instructions just don't do it justice on how to finish the wrap. Thank you!

Very important to have audio or text that describes what you're doing and how. And what temperature.

What temperature....
@Sawyerpaddlesandoars
@Sawyerpaddlesandoars 7 жыл бұрын
The box is heated with light bulbs, so no specific temperature. The rubber is warm to the touch but not hot. Another good trick is to leave them out in the sun for a few minutes.

What type of spray did you use?
@Sawyerpaddlesandoars

Plain old hair spray. Makes the surface slick for a few seconds before it gets sticky.

What's the difference in oarlock width and oar shaft diameter? In other words, how easily should the oar come out?
