My parents were Scots , I was born in the US. I like to use Scottish English sometimes it makes people smile. Every dog I had when I wanted him to go in the house it was" get in the wee hoos".. Or I say wee bairn often for child. My favorite is jobbie ..ha ha

Surely the Broons and our Willie would have Dundee accents cause DC Thompson was a Dundee publisher

Loved the Broons. The 1969 annual got me through a difficult change of school and helped keep me sane! Thanks for posting.

Have loved the Broons ever since I found the 1969 annual in my local WH Smiths as a child.

My favourite Broons strip is when Pa and Grandpa dress up in oilskins and boots for fishing. They get teased on the way to the river and when they start fishing. The others laugh at them when they catch a tin bath. However, Pa and Grandpa get the last laugh when they are all caught in a cloudburst on the way home. The others catch colds, but Pa and Grandpa do not as they have their fishing gear on.
