How are the spark plug cables connected to the DIS-IX module? Are you following the labels on the module? I have a 1972 beetle that I purchased with DIS-IX installed but the owner switched cylinders 1 and 2. He did not follow the stickers on the module. I do have lots of backfire and wonder if thats the problem. Thanks.

You should take that engine case to a machine shop and have it properly cleaned. And PELASE take that paint off of it. Paint inside the engine is the worst thing in the world.
