Beautiful video Paul! I enjoyed meeting you at Picnic Point in Maroochydore, Queensland feeding the lorikeets with Dot. I look forward to seeing your compilation of videos from here. Cheers, Nancy PS- I am from Alberta, Canada now living in Maroochydore. I enjoyed seeing the Canada Geese in this video 📹 😍

Hey Nancy! ....thanks for checking out the film. It was great to meet you and Dot in Maroochydore just a few weeks ago. I have only just started going through the 1,000+ clips of my time on the Sunshine Coast but will endeavour to put something together in the next couple of weeks - possibly breaking it down into 'bite-size' chunks (Pelicans, Brisbane, Soldier crabs, lorikeets etc). Watch this space! Best regards, Paul 😀

Very nice. I used to slope in California La Jolla and Davenport. Moved to Florida in 2003 - not many slopes here! Thinking of moving back to UK and IOW in particular. Are there many places to fly electric?
@paulknights37012 ай бұрын
I've never belonged to a model flyers club other than the BMFA (to ensure I have adequate insurance cover) so I've usually just gone up on our local hills or cliff spaces - never been hassled by anyone so I don't see it being an issue - plenty of places to fly. But tbh I haven't flown them in a couple of years. ...Great hobby, just had other stuff going on!

A beautifully created and lovely visualisation of the Island from the coastal wildlife perspective. Do hope you put together more similar work..... it's a wonderful advert for the Isle of Wight.

Thank you. Sometimes the best places are right on our own doorstep, but really come to life when the light does it's magic whether that's low sun or heavy dramatic clouds.... a bit of luck helps too!

🙏 Yes, I'm always grateful for where we live, and the ability to wander freely around so many areas of natural beauty all within a relatively small area. Glad you enjoyed.

Is looking backwards while tacking a catamaran thing or Is It a mistake?
@paulknights37013 ай бұрын
I see what you mean. I know you do when Gybing a cat so maybe it just follows on from that... or maybe it's just me? You'd have to ask someone with more than just a few months experience sailing catamarans.

@paulknights37014 ай бұрын
Yes, I used two GoPro Hero 8's - I had one fitted on handlebars front facing and the other mounted on a 'Gorilla pod' type clamp attached to top box and facing backwards.

Brilliant camera work and editing. I am always amazed at the work put into paint jobs. In North America we have a tendency to stay with the original paint as the vintage machines are few and far between. We always say they are only original once.
@paulknights37014 ай бұрын
Thanks. I see the editing like a big jigsaw puzzle - I have an idea what the overall picture should look like but it's remembering all the pieces (clips) and sticking them all together. As far as the paint jobs on some of those scooters - absolute works of art.

Another great vid Paul, my scoot was a bit lame this year, glad you got a ride.
@paulknights37014 ай бұрын
Cheers Rick. I was wondering if you'd be on the ride out. Last minute, my pillion ride fell through, so I rigged up GoPro's (Hero 8's) on my scooter facing forward and backwards - thankfully the 'Hypersmooth' stabilisation smoothed a lot of the bumps out!
