Hey just wondering for first year biomed does everyone who take biomed attend the same lectures at the same time? Or is it split up into different sessions? Thanks
@HarryTheAdventurer3 күн бұрын
There's morning stream and afternoon streams, half the people attend the morning and half attend the afternoon, but you can always stream hop. Otherwise the lectures are the same. For labs and tutorials, they are split up into different sessions. Hope it helps!

I had a senior Doctor say to me the notion of work life balance is false within Medicine, especially surgery. He cited consultants who quit medicine to become authors or other professions due to the unrelenting on call roster or other pressures. I believe it has to be a calling to enter this field, not simply a path to follow due to ones academic prowess or family pressures, you have to hold close YOUR why, to bear any how.
@HarryTheAdventurer4 ай бұрын
Very wholesome advice Benjamin - thank you!!
@BenThomas0894 ай бұрын
@@HarryTheAdventurer one thing I’ll add, is some of the specialties notorious for poor work life balance are the ones in which you generally see people move into general practice or other clinical/non clinical roles without constant night shifts. For each has their own tolerance and capacity for work at a given point in their life, however the old adage he or her who sacrifices their health for work will soon have neither health nor work” keep up the great content!

@HarryTheAdventurer2 ай бұрын
Hmm good idea, I'll try get some senior doctors onto the show to see if we can have some insights from them since I'm still relatively early in my medical career and don't think I'm qualified to make any judgements aha.
