If only I knew how easy it would be, it’s been over 2 years and I don’t have any cravings at all, for me the key difference was that I didn’t suffer withdrawal, not even within the first 30 days after go’ogling and following Steffon Barkload’s and quitting because I just wanted to.

Great video. Just watching this with the Wilko's getting demolished today and now watching this, on Gooder street at 6.53. Should have left it as it was then, infact they shouldn't have demolished most of what they have done. Good to see things like this though.

Big shame it is not a footpath or cycle path and then it would be of more benefit to people Loved your pins on the 3D view style of presentation. 😁

used to watch the elland turnback come along the return wires on huddersfield road past the school,at 8 45 every morning, the driver would always race this section, and as the trolleys joined the main wire crossing,allways dewired, sending the poles flailing about like uncontrollable arms,then the conductor allways replaced them expertly,when a trolleybus dewired it would. come to a dead ,sudden stop imagine that today in heavy traffic

Very interesting/fascinating. I lived in Fartown as a kid so this is fairly relevant to me. Brilliant .

I enjoyed seeing the final resting place of Robin Hood, but was unable to hear some of what you said because the music was so loud, it covered up your message.

Where did you find the old photos of Bradley station ? You’ll have to do a full feature length film of them all & include the triangle / windy tunnels. Great work fella

You'll not see trolley buses again as the infrastructure is to costly maybe battery buses 🤔

Still some beautiful buildings remain but many removed to be replaced by rubbish. A good clean of the old ones would have worked wonders.

Forget all this rubbish about Ghosts etc. We used to camp in them wood as kids. If you had walked through the wood you would have come across a 2 story hunting lodge Incscibed MCMV. 1915.

We stumbled across that around 1963.👍🏻

I was born in 1953 just above the 3 Nunns in the Horse shoe yard.,31 Leeds Rd . My Grandmother told me that there was a fire at Bradley Mills in the 19th century before she was born and quite a few child workers perished. Can you shed any light on this. Brilliant channel by the way. Lots of people don’t realise that our area is steeped in medieval history. The Luddite revolution, Robin Hoods grave etc.
@nigelkthomas95012 жыл бұрын
This is not very accurate! You have confused a number of stations with other lines. The Gildersome station in the video is on the old GN line from Wakefield to Bradford not the LNW Leeds New Line.

So I've grown up in the Kirkburton area and I first found out about the train line quite a few years ago but didn't look into it that much. Is that bricked up tunnel at 6:00 in the video, an actual train tunnel or was it used for a coal deposit? I've heard both from different people and I've tried to look online but couldn't find a definite answer

Thank you for a very interesting post. I used to travel regularly to both Meltham and Holmfirth in my work and seeing what is left of these branch lines wondered about their history and where exactly they ran. What a shame that they can’t be restored as a “Summer Wine” line would be a popular tourist attraction and bring cash into the area.
@joselassalle49582 жыл бұрын
Those must be some kind of gimmick to attract tourism. Historians are not even sure if he really existed.

100 years from now in Afghanistan there will be an American colony, Historians will say they came there walking across the Ice Bridge, But sadly to say today we know them as People Biden Left behind, thats why they want to take down history 😉

Nobody knows for Sure that Robin Hood even existed... Last time I looked. Even if there's a slightest chance this is his grave, it needs preserving and restoring. Could I suggest using Clannads the hooded man as tune for this. Thanks for sharing.
@ianwilkinson50692 жыл бұрын
Wow last I knew the historians were still arguing over whether or not he was even a real person let alone knew who he was or knew where he was buried, just like king Arthur.
