Maybe use the WB Epoxy 1st which should be a negative pressure membrane then the C1P over that.

An ongoing problem we constantly face in high rise is bloody air flow for drying. Just recently I was on a job in a building, 97% humidity and 39 C inside, 75% and 30 C outside. 2 days between coats and supervisors saying that the specs say we should be able to do two coats a day.
@GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd9 күн бұрын
High rises can be difficult for airflow, best course of action is to try find a window that can open if that is unavailable however you can use electric fans to create your own airflow!

Hey that’s not a bad idea. Looking forward to the new PFN. Also “some more feedback”, can you guys please, please start stocking your corners like the old days in boxes of 50. The boxes of 10 are fine if you’re a handyman doing 1 bathroom but heck, contracts need to buy in bulk. Not to mention the wasted packaging. Just some honest feedback 😁

do the wall linings need to be set in accordance with the wall sheet manufacturer's installation specifications prior to the application of the waterproofing membrane. in particularly my experience shows that the wall linings to the shower niches are general not set but are waterproofed over without any bond breakers. is this work compliant.?

Yes , follow linings manufacturers instructions and for the bond breaker question, check out our video on the traditional method of shower niches. We go over bond breakers in that one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHebaq1jhMeVgbs

Thanks, why is it necessary to apply further tape with the 38fc when already installed at the start?
@GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd2 ай бұрын
Hi, the tape at the start is just covering the edges, so the corners are still exposed and need some type of detail to stop water running into the corner of the niche that's why we use CN90 and CN270 to seal the niche for good ☺

Just from personal experience, I wouldnt use yellow tongue in wet areas. I am currently in the process of repairing excessive water damage due to the use of yellow tongue throughout the bathroom and laundry floor. Understanding that these days the waterproofing has advanced since the early 90s, but the headache I am dealing with says its just best to use proper wet area flooring like scyon or compressed concrete flooring then waterproof above and below the screed with double flange system.

How is this a plumbers job? It’s a waterproofing job. Plumbers don’t “finish” the floor nor is it part of the plumbing standard.
@wooddawg48683 ай бұрын
It's 2024, why is so much time spent on waterproofing basement/below-grade walls and basements? Is there a concrete mix that stops water? There should be a poly-type spray that permanently seals a basement in 1 application at a minimum.

Seems non-complaint as the corner gaps (bond breaker) were not filled with flexible sealant before putting the waterproofing membrane. This is as per AS 3740 - 2010

The whole point of installing a screed is to create fall to the drain right? But the floor underneath the screed will always be flat right? So we waterproof under the screed with a correctly recessed puddle flange. But how does this water that has worked its way through the screed to the floor below find its way to the puddle flange, given that the floor here is flat?

thanks for another gtreat video. If your on a second story with fibre cement sheet wouldn't recessing into the sheet (which may only be 20mm thick) potentially be a structural issue? Again where using fibre cement sheeting it is near impossible to create a fall with the sheet itself. Would it be possible to use a very thick membrane so the fall is in the membrane instelf? Or if using membrane above and below screed can you ignore the bottom membrane as fas as the fall requirement and flange recessing?
@GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd4 ай бұрын
Hi David, Rebating the flange into the sheet is a question to be posed to the relevant sheet manufacture. No, membrane cannot be used to create falls. Please reference AS3740 in relation to design and application. Happy to answer specific questions regarding products, uses etc. All design considerations and installation compliances must be referenced to applicable sections of the NCC and relevant standards. Hope this can be of some help to you!
@davidanderton24374 ай бұрын
@@GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd thanks. I did email James Hardie about this as their instruction manual for flooring is quoting a version of 3740 from around 2010.

Hi. Thanks for the video. On my reading the standard requires the fall to be on the substrate? Or the video suggests the fall is not needed on the substrate, and you can create the fall on the screed and waterproof over? Thanks
@GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd4 ай бұрын
Hi Mike, refer to sections 2.3.1 and 4.2 of AS 3740 and extent of waterproofing requirements under the NCC volume 1 - Part F2, and NCC Volume 2 Part H4. All components relating to placement of membrane relative to falls need to be referenced from these sections. Hope this can be of some help to you!

One backet of Isoflex was not enough, but it is too expensive to buy. I thought to buy cheaper one peleseal, but worry that it will not stuck to each other. Or maybe to use primer in between. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for this. I am doing a cottage reno. My bathroom floor will be over the old lounge and Grove timber. I am doing the waterproofing and tiling myself. Can I go through the steps as I understand? 1. Position my shower waste hole through my floor 2. Ready my ceramic tile underlay and glue & screw it in place. Ensure my puddle flang is flush with my underlay 3. Remove the flange and apply my membrane 4. Screed over, making my fall into the waste the flange and attach my finished grate.
