I have an older model from Magic Mobility I bought over 10yrs ago. It still runs fine. I used it mostly on beach sand and some trails. Besides speed as you said:), I have two complaints. First, steeper grades than 40 degrees it just didn't want to power up. Always needed a push from a friend. Second, It doesn't fit/maneuver well in tight places "restaurants/vehicles." I went from a full size van with a lift to a minivan/side entrance ramp van. It's 3 inches too wide for my ramp van. Not a fault of the chair, but something to consider if looking into purchasing one.

I’ve been in a power chair for about six years now and my favorite one is a Quickie QM 710 on my second one of those and I absolutely hate my Quantum. Pride hate it but I think I’m getting one of these all my chairs have been used about Medicaid is finally buying me a chair and I think I’m getting one of those and yes 6 mile an hour is too slow. I want eight or 10. As far as I can tell, but the only chairs that go faster than 6.2 miles an hour or rear wheel or rear wheel hybrid chairs because well they are a lot more stable at speed.

Thanks for your comment. The V6 is definitely a great chair and is very powerful however if I had my time over I would probably go for the magic mobility V4. As soon as you take the V6 in any sort of soft ground like deep gravel or sand and try to turn around the caster wheels dig in and you get bogged.

Oh niiiice! Great review. I want one too! Oh to go on a bushwalk and to the beach! That would be amazing!!! In an NDIS review atm as they rejected my initial claim (the old "lack of evidence line" because they need more time as the backlog is so huge). So I'm still using the basic 2nd hand broken front wheeled push chair I bought from FB marketplace. Not comfy or safe to have a seizure in! No seatbelt even! Praying that I pass the review with the extra specialists letters. 🙏 Praying for a powered wheelchair 🙏 What a change it would make to my world to go out safely! 👩‍🦼

I had a look at Mobility website I can't seem to find the wheelchair weight without occupied. Mine with me is about 300 kg so that would make it about 150 killers

For it struggling with a child on a 4 inch bump, and being able to get stuck in sand, this wheelchair should definitely not be considered offroad. Plus that rear wheel skidding is a horrible idea, you just wear out your tires faster and leave skids everywhere. Check out the tracked wheelchair.

Thanks for your comment. It definitely struggles in the rough stuff when the steering lock is not engaged. But in saying that once you engage the steering lock it will traverse decent holes and bumps within reason. As for it getting stuck in the sand I was towing Beach trolley full of stuff. Once we disconnected the trolley it pulled out of the sand no problems. It is definitely less capable than tracked chairs but the good thing with X8 is it will fit in most wheelchair vans without needing to tow a trailer to transported around. As for the way it steers and drags the wheel on occasion that is simply the design of how the wheelchair turns and works. Magic mobilities latest off-road wheelchair called XT4 fixes that problem with servo steering.

So I’ve owned both …try driving over a few roots and 3” branches with a tracked chair and you’ll begin to see how much better pneumatic tire design really is. The tracked chairs beat you to death, you feel Everything. As with any chair, you have to learn the best way to navigate obstacles, sand being a bit of an exception, it’s pretty unforgiving.

So I do have a question I have a magic Mobility V4 front-wheel drive and I'm trying to find a pin where you can lock into a qstraint to drive your vehicle but the company says they don't sell one

Interesting. I have the V6 and it has the docking pin that retracts in and out. I thought that you would be able to have that installed onto your V4. CAUTION. x8 extreme all-terrain wheelchair by Magic Mobility is a white elephant. I got probably less than 50 hours use before it was considered a write-off. Useless inside. Was encouraged by the seller to 'live life' and told incredible anecdotes. Just look on youtube. I took mine to a rocky part of a beach to see if I could look at some rockpools. This seemed completely in keeping with its use case description. After driving through a fissure some salt water mush splashed into the motor and it just stopped and errored. It would not restart. The beach was empty except for my carer and some older ladies in the distance. I was just kind of stunned... it was too heavy for my carer to push so I sat and weighed the situation. The tide was coming in quickly, and the wheels where now being wet by tidal surge. After calling for emergency services, and sitting for an addition half-an-hour, the salt water had done its work and it was declared a write-off if it wasn't already written-off on first exposure to the initial splash. The seller told me that there are no winners in this scenario. More specifically, the NDIS and I were the losers so far as I can tell. I was directed to the manual and told it should never be taken NEAR pooled water as per instruction. It was sold to me with a story of one of their customers mounting a gun on their and driving it through swamps on hunts. I drive my standard power wheelchair through gutters swollen by rain that are much deeper and wider than the fissure I drove across. seller ACCESS REHAB EQUIPMENT NEVER BUY. This product is not fit for purpose and misadvertised. Magic Mobility should order a recall before someone gets hurt or killed.

@@RAD360 It is important you say on your clip NEVER take near pooled water... as this is the response you'll get if it breaks near pooled water. You will receive no assistance from the manufacturer or seller if this the case. It is not all terrain at all. Please don't encourage others to buy if you want a clean conscience.
