Nice job very helpful I only have entry so I guess I don't get signals. Says my license no support catalog. Looks very cool though. Very handy I wrote my own analyzer including signals in python.

so you can't have both the Microchip CAN BUS Analyzer v2.3 and the OptoLyzer-Studio-x64-V1.8.1 installed on the same computer because of installed modules conflict, specifically Windows Driver Package - Microchip Technology, Inc. CustomUSBDevices

The picture at 04:02 is a little bit misleading in my opinion. It shows a point-to-point connection of the sensor units to ECU instead of a bus architecture (e.g., CAN-FD bus) for example at 10 Mbit/s. Some of the stated benefits of T1S such as less cabling, and ECU connectors wouldn't apply in that case - is that correct?

If CAN Bus uses two cables that both have a voltage, how is the circuit completed without a ground?

Dear Robin, Many thanks for watching the K2L video related to CAN bus Analysis with the K2L OptoLyzer® Studio and the K2L MOCCA CL. Many thanks for your question as well. With respect to your question, as the CAN bus is a differential bus, only the voltage difference between the two bus lines CANH and CANL is relevant. The evaluation of this difference results in one of the two logical states recessive or dominant; therefore, it is not required to provide a common ground. If you would like to dig deeper in relation to the CAN bus physical layer, you could refer e.g. to the Microchip application note AN288 with title: “A CAN Physical Layer Discussion” that you can find at ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/appnotes/00228a.pdf. Please continue to follow K2L on KZbin. We at K2L are looking forward to receive your first order; for requesting a quote, please visit www.k2l.tools.
