You got it so easy bro. I had to remove two brick and mortar walls with a sledge hammer. Took me one day

That’s a steel I-beam packed with wood that was engineered for the opening. It won’t be bowing anytime soon.

Awesome time lapse! Did you have to get a permit to open the space?

Stop freezing the pins and the rod won't cool as fast. If your room is 70° F and you put your pins in the freezer at 30° F, you only shrink that pin by 0.000252" or 2.5um. Which is the size of a single smoke particle. A particle of pollen is 20um. So you can see the pin does not shrink much. Not enough to make it worth reducing the time you have for installation, that's for sure. Thanks for sharing though man.

How do you center pin to piston
@shortattentionspangarage13122 жыл бұрын
Cuss words, Harbor Freight shop press, toaster oven to heat stuff, cans of Miller Lite in the shop... My kind of mechanic.

The wrist pin does not need to be put in the freezer it shortens the time frame….machine shops don’t have refrigerators sitting beside the connecting rod heater …just no reason for that. Only the rod needs to be heated. The only thing that needs to be cold is the Miller Light or in my case the Busch Light . Keep up the good work just keep the pins outa the freezer.

What do you do to center the rod on to the wrist pin? After you get the rod into place on the piston the gap on both sides of the rod have to be the same.

I'm trying it now, just finished one and waiting for the next one to heat up. Next round I'm gonna try putting 2 in to heat up.
