I’m not sure but to me it looks like you skipped a step when connecting the patriot box. There should be a wire coming from the break-away box that connects to the P box. It looks like an old time radio headphone jack. At least that’s how mine works 😃

The town of Beech Mountain is a hell hole. The corrupt town council refuses to look out for the interests of the property owners. They allowed one BULLY to put a rock quarry at the top of Beech Mountain. A rock quarry! Can you imagine! The town promises visitors & potential new property owners peace, quiet and safety. And then they betray them. The bully also has a rock crusher - so that constant pounding, all day long, is another of Beech Mountain's horrible sounds. Toxic, noisy trucks go back & forth, all day long. Spewing pollution & dirt. The noise is unbearable. You would think the town would protect their property owners, but they don't. It's only about greed for them. Don't buy property on Beech Mountain. You will regret it.

The question is, can you use that setup for any car? Or is it specific for certain cars and the year of the car?
@YoungatHeartAdventures2 ай бұрын
@SuperRedman76 there are only certain cars and years that can be flat towed. Typically it has to be a standard transmission or automatic that has a setting to allow flat towing. Check your owners manual to see if your car is eligible, or if you plan to buy one as a tow vehicle. Then the car must be set up for towing by installing the base plate (the base plate is specific for your year and model).

We love chimney rock. We always stay right at the base in town looking over the river. We walked the trail behind all of the restaurants and shops yesterday evening to eat. On the way back we come face-to-face with a black bear. We turned around and he /she just walked behind us. It was very unsettling. We turned up the first set of steps we come too and went up the back way to a restaurant.

Finally able to test ride and getting used to the PAS & throttle. Had my bike for 2 weeks in spring here in Valley City ND and it’s been too windy and uncomfortably cold until today. Thank you for the tutorial. Question what’s the top speed in throttle only without pedaling and does it go faster with throttle IN the higher PAS level ?
@YoungatHeartAdventures5 ай бұрын
Hi I'm glad you're able to enjoy your bike now! Mine goes about 20-23 mph without pedaling. I have unlocked the class 3 setting so that it is not limited to 20. The pas doesn't matter when you use the throttle.

Huntington Beach State Park is the best birding location in South Carolina and one of the best on the east coast, with over 300 different bird species documented throughout the year. If you're into bird photography, many of the bigger birds are used to people and you can photograph them at close range.

I have just scheduled a 2 week camping trip for May to the Outer Banks, staying at 3 NPS campgrounds in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore going from north to south - Oregon Inlet, Frisco and Ocracoke Island. There is a free ferry to get from the southern end of Cape Hatteras to Ocracoke Island. I've been to the OBX a couple of times previously, but this will be my first visit to Ocracoke Island. I was surprised I was able to reserve campsites for the dates I wanted only 3 to 5 weeks ahead of time. I'm sure that would not be the case for the heavy tourist season from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The weather in May is usually perfect with average high temperatures around 75 and lows near 60. For those who like camping at the beach without big crowds, May and September-October at the Outer Banks is spectacular. You're not stuck in one place looking at the same beach every day. There are plenty of things to see and do all along the Outer Banks and small villages with groceries and restaurants. I can't think of another place that compares to the Outer Banks in the offseason in terms of scenery, weather (assuming you avoid hurricanes in the fall) and the lack of crowds. There is loads of great birding at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge and many other locations. I will be tent camping with my dog and almost everywhere in the Outer Banks is pet friendly. The NPS campgrounds are ridiculous bargains if you don't require all the amenities - $14 a night (50% discount) with a senior National Parks Lifetime Passport. They have flush toilets, running water and outdoor showers, which is all I need. If you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, you can drive on many of the beaches with an OBX permit. I believe a 10 day permit is $50 and a 12 month permit is $100.
@YoungatHeartAdventures5 ай бұрын
Thanks for all the detail! We love the OBX as well. I'm sure your comment will help many who are planning to travel there this year..

I highly recommend the Price Lake Campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a NPS campground that just added showers a few years ago. It is along my favorite stretch of the Parkway, close to Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and the Linville Gorge, Price Lake, Moses Cone and the town of Blowing Rock. It's also convenient to the High Country - Banner Elk, Valle Crucis (with the original Mast General Store) and Roan Mountain.

It didn't come like that stock... the previous owner of the mini had it set up for 4 down towing. This is something that can be done yourself or (more commonly) done by businesses who specialize in setting up cars for towing. For example, the base plate from Blue Ox for this exact make and model car must be installed on the front end. Usually this is a pretty complex installation involving removal of existing components and then installation of the base plate. The typical cost to provision a car for towing is about $5000. What we did was search for a used car that was already set up

@YoungatHeartAdventures6 ай бұрын
I know that a number of myrtle Beach campgrounds do offer storage and will even set up your rig before your arrival and return it after you leave. Ocean lakes and lakewood do this I believe. If you like Barefoot RV resort, I suggest you call them and ask if they do it or maybe they are affiliated with a storage facility. Good luck and happy travels!

Awesome video. I have read conflicting views on being ALLOWED to flat tow a mini cooper (manual transmission), and some say NOT to tow a mini-cooper. No issues? Second, was the yellow tip tube that hooks to your RV power installed when the system was installed? How much was the entire setup including installation..., base plate, Blue Ox hitch system and break system? Thanks very helpful...
@YoungatHeartAdventures8 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching! You are correct MINI does not recommend towing their cars 4 down and it would likely void any warranty claims should it damage something. However many people do it anyway and my feeling is that the risk of damage is low for a standard transmission. This is an older car 2011 so no warranty, and we bought it already set up with the blue ox baseplate, wiring and patriot braking system. We have towed it about 1200 miles so far with no issues... it tows very well and so far so good! You would have to call around to get prices but I believe the cost to set up a car for towing is typically around 5000. We were purposely looking for a car already set up and found this one on a Facebook group. Yes the yellow power is for the braking system and pulls juice right from the RV not the vehicle battery

I have flat-towed my 2008 Mini Cooper S Convertible for over 6,000 miles with no problems whatsoever. I believe that Mini Cooper wants to release itself of any liability should anything occur, most likely caused by human error such as leaving the manual transmission in gear.
