There are 2 critical confusions people tend to make about self improvement 1. Being "Motivated" does not mean self-improving. Yes motivation is part of it, but remember that motivation is only brought about by dopamine release which is temporary. Without any concrete action or steps, its not worth squat. Most of these self-help assholes make money out of triggering dopamine release in the same way crack dealers make money out of getting you high. The one thing they have in common is that they are both addictive. Very rare do they give you anything concrete. If they do, its usually dubious (like in a pyramid scheme). This is how they manipulate you. So choose carefully who you listen to. Moreover, with motivation must come with a concrete plan. If your goal is to lose weight, its not enough that you motivate your ass going to the gym. Its also important to have a concrete workout and diet plan that works FOR YOU. 2. People tend to focus more on the destination than the journey. Self-improvement is a constant journey. I do believe that in one way or another most of us do things to be better at something everyday. The problem is we are always waaaay too focused on getting the dream body, or that dream car, or making 6 figures. Again these self-help assholes make you feel miserable about yourself and get you to think that you are a loser unless you are at their level. That is wrong. I always tell people, when you embark on a fitness journey, the change in the physical comes last. What changes first is your attitude. You develop better discipline, you become more dedicated, you care for your self more which is self-love. THat is way way more important than having a 6-pack so that you can show it off on instagram. The same thing goes with material wealth. While you may not yet have the car you want, you at least are getting better at whatever it is your doing. Stop listening to assholes who tell you that you do not deserve to be happy if you are not yet driving a sports car. Also, know its ok to not be ok. Its not being weak. It is being human. Its ok to enjoy food every once in a while. Yes, go and attend that party, you also need to socialize. Socializing is part of your growth as a human being. Stop listening to idiots who tell you, you should lock yourself in your office until you are making 6 figures.

After finally diving into all of De Palma's work I can ho estly say he's one of my faves. No matter the film there's something worth seeing in each one. And you captured his essence perfectly. While it's hard to boil down a person's many decades of art into 15 minutes, you truly did the master wonderfully. You gave each film a spotlight, showing how Brian has a style like no other. Fantastic job. One of the best filmmaker tribute videos ever.

Extremely well done. The inter-connectivity of all De Palma's work beautifully realized. There's more substance in De Palma's style than in a truckload of preachy oscar baiting drama. Now if we only could have 10 more of his works. btway for all De Palma fans, Redacted needs to be rediscovered again. Both extremely heartfelt and uncomfortably satirical. If there's one person that can have his cake and eat it too it's De Palma.
