I'm old enough to have seen the Mets at the Polo Ground. Big Shea was a magic place. Saw Hank Aaron hit 3 homers in one game. I would never go to Citi Field

The Vietnam Veterans also deserve this type of honor. This is also for them. I served from 1988 to 1992.

I marched in that parade and the DC parade. I was in 3bn 505 pir, 82nd abn. We stayed at Ft.Dix N.J. took a ferry and landed at battery park. Got some down time went to tge empire state building, a bar at the base, we met a couple girls who took us to the top one worked there, then went across town to a big party, then realized we had to rendezvous with our busses we asked hiw far away we where me and my buddy had to double time on and off the subway then ran the last few blocks, everyone else on the bus had been doing push ups because they where late, by the time me and Scott got the Sfc. Capel told us to get our asses on the bus. We stayed at the university of Maryland for the DC parade and got some down time there as well the week earlier. Got to explore the mall, they had a party at the white house lawn, and we went to a DC bar, that didn't have a dance floor but did by the time we left. Our money wasn't any good anywhere and the people where so nice. Really great memories.

I never could Shea Goodbye at all because this ball park has 55,000 sets than the newer ballparks and it is sickening that this is all about money!
