I understand that this aircraft is now owned by Kermit Weeks Fantasy of Flight Museum in Florida .Kermit had flown the aircraft a couple of times some years ago , currently It has been undergoing major inspections and flutter testing to insure the structural integrity and airworthiness of the aircraft to assure flight safety prior to starting any flight operations .

I remember going over to Hobby Field back when Steve was building this plane. Also remember Steve flying it over my shop. You could hear him coming and would have to go outside and watch. Amazing.

I feel so privileged to have seen this plane rip up the sky in Chino, CA. Delmar flew that thing with such a relaxed hand while passing us with a low, fast roll then a climbing outside knife edge turn. Jaw dropping stuff.

Steve Wolf was one of our A&P students at Portland Community College, I Was his sheet Metal instructor. He was a very sharp student and quick learner. Before he was a student , he flew an Aeronca Champ , doing aerobatics at Wally Olsen's Evergreen airport in Vancouver Washington .... He also did the wings for the Howard Hughs' Replica in Cottage Grove, Oregon.

I am 34 now in 2024. When I was 9 years old at the Arlington air show in Washington state in 1999 I was standing there looking at the geebee and Delmar approached me and asked if I wanted to see inside of it. I said yes and he walked me under the rope and as I looked around inside he offered to let me sit in it and helped me inside. Delmar gave me one of the coolest memories as a kid and obviously I thought it was very neat then but I appreciate it a lot now. I am now a private pilot of a pitts special and an old Luscombe. And now greatly appreciate the skill to build and fly this airplane. Still have my vhs copy of this signed by Delmar and Steve wolff.

These are flying again. The Granville Bros never wanted to see one fly ever it was so dangerous. One of them helped NEAM at Bradley build one only if it would be unflyable. The wings are held on by brackets from a screen door. Prop wash would rip them off.

I'm thinking it would take a set of huge balls to fly the Gee Bee, knowing about its flight characteristics and what happened to the original.

Love the Gee Bee. Beautiful plane. Great flying. Nice to see someone actually land it without nosing it over lol. Probably one of the most challenging planes to land. You made it look like a breeze. Great job.

You can imagine what it was like in all the airshow hospitality tents after the show with all the jet and warbird jockeys barely able to fit their egos into the tent, and then Delmar walks in and they all look at their shoes 😂

I can only imagine what it must have felt like to pilot one of those planes. Just a remainder - those were the fastest machines mankind had ever created, no human had ever gone this fast before. And these machines were dangerous. Very very dangerous.

Landing way too fast in my humble opinion .With my GeeBee you have to drag it in with the motor and the aircraft trimmed to land in a three pointer attitude .Wheelers are out !

I was at Falcon Field Mesa, AZ when they filmed this. I have to admit I was more enamored with Jennifer O'Neil ( I had crush on her and she was very nice) David Carradine was OK but a bit full of himself. He was very popular at that time so I guess it's understandable. It was great to see them working on this movie. A good memory......................
