I think this one is my favorite method. The simulation method is a bit unpredictable while the character method is a lot of process. Cool series 👍

When adding the shader effector to add the animation in the Y-axis and nothing happens - Go into: Rope tag > shading: right at the bottom you will see a box called 'time dependent' -- tick this ON. Now you should see the noise effect the animation.

Great tutorial, but you have missed a few steps. As stemfourvisual said - the vertex map needs to go into the rope tag i order to see any movement.
