I only stopped recording because it took FOREVER for the airplane to taxi out. I had my own flight I had to get to. It's a 34 second video, but it took several minutes to film this.

One time, I tried to do a Concorde crash RP in Roblox and so many people teamed up to rp. They said stuff like I think the gears is iced. Get him to the fixing.. thing **I proceed to taxi at 25 knots** FASTER! **southwest speeds**

Classic! T3 has been replaced now, but when you recorded this, it wasn't a whole lot different than the original terminal built in the early 60s!

I can understand if the pilots were behind schedule, but from what I've been told as a pilot, and in A&P school, taxi speed should be no more than walking speed.

There is such thing as too fast but part of the reason they do that is for liability purposes and also to keep the Hobbs rolling

I wish more pilots took off like this. It’s not dangerous, and it’s a much faster procedure than the one we usually have to endure, even when we’ve had takeoff clearance since barely halfway through the taxi. Round the corner, hit the gas, leave the ground. The pilot monitoring should be doing all the config checks during taxi. No excuse to still be double checking everything by the time they get to the runway threshold.
@erauprcwa2 жыл бұрын
Every airline has different procedures and due to performance, you might need to do a static takeoff. Most takeoffs are like this though...

no GPWS?
@erauprcwa2 жыл бұрын
Yes there's GPWS on the airplane. Every operator of an aircraft type can request certain things on the airplane, for example, aural callouts on the radio altimeter. Sometimes those callouts only happen during certain setups of the given approach. If you're planning a visual approach, certain setups will silence those aural callouts. With each given operator, pilots are given callout and procedural flow criteria for specific approaches and scenarios. So, yes, there is GPWS, but on this approach, you don't hear anything because the first officer is making the callout, since the captain is flying this leg.
