my grandfather actually designed one of the iterations of the Mead indian tablets. He was a graphic designer, and played trumpet on the bottle circuit

This is my stomping grounds. John Flinchpaugh is a relative. My relatives on my dad's side were among the earliest settlers. They were there in 1830 before it was legal. Dad's grandfather sold wood up and down the Missoui River. He and his wife were buried on top of King Hill. There are no markers remaining to my knowledge. We had family reunions at Krug and Hyde Parks. Great memories.

I've lived here all my life, 60 years. This town has really gone downhill. Only Bill Curtis can make it sound beautiful again. Thanks for the upload.

My great Grandpa had a big hand in building this park and most of the brick streets in St. Jo.

This park used to be one of my favorite places to go when i was a child. It used to be really nice. Now they have to lock the public restrooms at the park most days trying to fight against the illegal things happening there almost everyday. The last thing I heard about this place before watching this video was that my brothers ex girlfriend and her current boyfriend murdered a girl in a satanic ritual right beside the duck pond at the front of the park The park is also extremely haunted but few believe it really is.

My parents were from the St Joe area..I was raised in KCMO, but thanks for reminding me of 'Big Chief' tablets..they wouldn't be PC today..but we used them in the 70s with Frito Lay 'Frito Bandito' erasers from Fritos...not proud of it, but it wasn't hatred..it was ignorance and custom.

I was born and raised in the South End of St. Joe and have to say although I don't miss the stink of the stockyards I absolutely miss my friends and family that still live there and every single time I go back to visit I take a drive up and down the Parkway system as well as drive around Krug Park. I'll be visiting again this December and will drive around Krug Park's "Holiday Park" and get my Cherry Mash too

In 1957, Lafayette highschool had their graduation ceremonies here in Krug Park Bowl. I love to lay down at the top of the hill & roll down. I also learned to drive a car, a pushbutton Plymoth from the top of the hill in Drivers Training class. On the playground, not shown, we spent many hours swinging in the double swings. Picnics at the end of school year. Oh where have all these good times gone.

In 1976 I was 11.My mom moved us to a house on green street and I pretty much grew up in Krug Park. The first concert I ever attended was Pat Boone in the Amphitheater. I looked forward to the shows because of the payday. I would volunteer to take cups and cans and wrappers to the trash for people and they would drop cash in my ballcap. I would spend the summer catching catfish and crawdads in the pond and winters Ice skating on it. Kids cooking out with their parents would invite me to eat.;)

My family the Pittam's, Lovell's, and Duncan's all played big rolls in the history of St. Joseph, MO. The Pittam's played a big part in building many of the old Cobble stone streets, as well as Krug Park and Wyatt Hill. They and the Lovell's were also the ones who dug the Dug Cut that was never finished because in the 1930's they paved Mac Arthur Road along the bottom of the river bluffs. I remember many many of the old long gone land marks. I was extremely disapointed on my last return .
