Sad that he died so young. Bittersweet memories of She's a Woman playing over the radio Sunday afternoons during basic military training in Bloemfontein.

An absolutely beautiful song, Leon - One of my mother's favourites, I think by Nat King Cole. (^_^) Well, I have enjoyed this whole album, even though it took me a few days to get through it. Thank you for uploading it. Liz.

Hi Liz, I'm glad you enjoyed the album, first time I've uploaded any of Hennie's music. The heat is absolutely unbearable, and it seems it might get worse. Hope you have better weather down your way? Groete!

@@keurspel Yes, we had a scorching hot summer this year. I remember a day that we took Jon to the hospital for a checkup and when it came time to go home, I could not step out of that hospital because it was so hot and I felt as though I wanted to faint. But it didn't take long for Jon's son, Andrew to get to us with the car. Right now at this moment, it is 22'F here. That is below freezing. I like freezing...LOL

I'm starting to think I'm a winter person, although I've never been one my entire life.

@@keurspel Oh, I began to think like that when I first came to live here in Saint Louis, Misery (as I call this place) It's not so much the heat, but the humidity that sucks the life out of me. It's like Durban in summer. I always tell people that I am the only old fogey who won't mosey on down to Florida during the winter. That;s what the older people do here in the USA. They go down to Florida during the winters because they are so severe. But I love it. The cold makes my nose bleed though....LOL

Woooooo - some lekker jazz there, Leon. Hennie Bekker was known to me back then, but merely as a name that was bouncing around on the music scene. I only became a Jazz fan back in the 80's when I was working at Bothners in Claremont. My favourite Jazz band was always The Modern Jazz Quartet. There must be some influence here because I can hear it. I'm looking forward to hearing some other songs from this album, Leon. (^_^) You take care now. Hugs from Liz
