Thank you Roger. From myself and Danny McAleer Congratulations on a lifetime of the best Rock and Roll ever made. And for the best live shows I've ever seen. The energy is always off the charts! Thanks for putting us up for the weekend at the Soaring Eagle in Mt. Pleasant Michigan. You guys ROCKED! Say hello to Linda, or as Dan would say LLLLLLINDA? Linda brought us back to the dressing room at Pine Knob here in Michigan so that my nephew could meet you. He still remembers singing Slow Ride with you. Thanks Roger, Linda and Bryan for making Paulie so happy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXS0gnWZnMRqapIsi=_iRQDANcA33X9Bh4

Been a Foghat nut since 1972, and this is my alltime favorite cut from them! The slide player is pretty good - but definitely not another Rod Price.

Good cut! But it seriously lacks the slide Rod Price would do in it.

When you mention aslide guitarists of the 70s [or even late 60s], first person that comes to mind is Rory Gallagher (Not Beck, Page or Clapton).

Actually, Rory in Foghat would have been phenomenal

He was appreciative by the other band members for sure . The old Foghat were best without a shadow of a doubt .

To be honest I think Rod got underappreciated of his diversity of playing slide and standard leads. His slide playing was unmatched, BUT his standard leads were fast and fluid. That's called diverse in lead guitar. 😉

His guitar was principle in the sales of millions of albums. That's hardly under appreciated.

@@peach495 yes, but I'm talking about when you read these top guitarist list, his name is not mentioned at all. I did see someone (a guitarist) do his underappreciated list of guitarist here on YT, and he put Rod right at the top and said he was one of the greatest players in Rock history. After seeing him live with Foghat 25+ times and a number of times during his solo career, I'd concur with that.

I grew up in that scene... the very first band I saw live was Twisted Sister at the Mad Hatter in Stony Brook. I saw Tusk with Bobby and his brother Teddy on guitar/vocalist at Comsewogue High School... Teddy was a killer guitarist even in those early days, as was Bobby on drums. In the 70s and early 80s, those bands were huge, making a lot of money at these shows, with massive PAs... it was like a full concert. I started gigging myself in 1988.... and by then the drinking age went from 18 to 201, cops enfored DUI laws, and the clubs were nothing like they used to be. We would make like $800 a night, vs $5000 for the bands that played a decade earlier. The early days were way better, much more fun. Anyways... good times remembered, glad I was there.
