Wow. I used a sewing needle to release the battery. Slide it down the middle groove, while touching the battery edge. Then push out, in provided gap - towards outside of circle. Only soft touch required, no prying. The white plastic stays in place. Only the thin donut cover is moved. It should pop right up. Hope this helps.

When changing the battery, you have to be SUPER CAREFUL when you pry the opener with a pin. I ended up breaking off the tiny plastic tabs that lock the battery cover down in place. It’s ok, though cause by the time you put the rubber backing in place & screw the back down, the battery is still held firmly in place & the watch functions fine.

The main issue I ran into is that one of the buttons was not working after my install. After a closer look I could see that the internal contact arm was not lining up with the button pusher. After lining up the contact arm, the button worked. Good luck and thank you!

yeahhh my battery doesnt pop out nearly that easy. Of course, mine has a different plate cover that has to be pried off it seems. I swear, man. I have the worst luck.

For any wanderer like me asking "how the fuck did he open the battery lid?!?". You use a needle between the two hooks (the small metal pieces on the side of the lid) going from the inner side of the battery to the outside to 'flip it open'. It should be on the side of the golden spring. Mine had a small hole between the two hooks where I could stick the needle in.

Battery cover has a little piece where it locks to the watch, and he presses in the middle (I don't know if I explained myself correctly :)). Use something sharp to unrelease this piece.

THANK YOU! I couldn't figure out how to get the latch unlocked. Video is fast, but I see stick in fine point into latch gate at apx 45 degree angle, move top of point towards the battery to pop it open! No need for a jeweler. 😅

I did this on my PRG-650y and the watch hasn't powered on. I touched the AC to negative also but I read to "place it under a light for a while" and it still hasn't done anything. How long should it take?
