On paper, his music looks fascinating. But for it to be widely appreciated, someone needs to arrange his organ works for real instruments. The organ is a mushy creepy vague sounding instrument in which the voices get lost (except in the rare case of Bach's writing for organ). The organ does nothing to "sell" Buxtehude's music, only guarantee that it remains obscure forever.
