There are 2 problems with this setup. The first is the NAT with no interfaces defined, if you had multiple vlans on your router your traffic between vlan would also be natted and this may not be desired in some setups. The second is the ping only "looks" at the gateway IP which most commonly is your local ISP router IP, meaning if your internet service behind the ISP router goes down your failover does not work because the ISP router is still responding to ping. Rather create a NAT rule per ISP interface or create an interface group and use recursive routing to solve for the failover not working.

If I may... two things 1) Also have to add rules in firewall and accept udp 500,1701,4500 and protocol 50 (ipsec-esp) /ip firewall filter add action=accept chain=input in-interface=ether1 protocol=ipsec-esp \ comment="allow L2TP VPN (ipsec-esp)" add action=accept chain=input dst-port=500,1701,4500 in-interface=ether1 protocol=udp \ comment="allow L2TP VPN (500,4500,1701/udp)" 2) in these rules, by default has been addigned input interface as eth1. That caused connectivity problems when trying to connect from internet, but it was ok trying to connect from inside the network... so just check the firewall rules and if they have in. Interface eth1, just leave it empty. THANK YOU!!

I have just a couple questions about the gns3 vm setup. I have been using it with VMware with NAT and host internet adapters. I am also unsure what are the reasons and benefits to using those settings instead of NAT and bridged. Also, what is the headless mode in gns3 vm and why are you using that setting? If anyone can direct me to more information on these settings it would be greatly appreciated.
