I feel like I just went camping with a hipster couple, I now too want to grow a top knot. Also not having internet while your out some where desolate is why you go out there unless it’s an emergency put away the technology, I’ll be out there at USAL soon but I am going old school diesel and gas powered rigs tents and logs for firewood let’s not gentrify the camp life

Nice half blind dovetail joints, you made it look easy, I have one of those jigs and can say they are tricky to get dialed in right. True wood worker.

Just found your channel! This stuff is great! I noticed on your Rivian you have the 21inch wheels. Any issues getting to where you want to camp with these? Did a demo drive last week and can’t decide between the 20/all terrain and these.

Glad you’re enjoying the videos! We originally decided on the 21s to maximize range, but we really haven’t had to push it too far (and with the supercharger network that should be even less of an issue). The 21s have been more than capable enough to get where we want to go. The big downside with them is there are no other tires that fit the wheel so it can be a pain getting them replaced. If we had to choose again we may have gone with the 20s because we like the look and there are more tire options.

They are the REI Pack-Away Cubes. I just checked their website, and unfortunately it looks like they don't sell them anymore. They fit perfectly in the R1T front trunk though!

I take it that was a 30A adaptor you used at the campground? What adapter did you use? Also, how fast (MPH) did it charge?

We got the adaptor from Amazon. You just need to make sure it says it works for electric vehicle charging. I think we get about 6 mph on 30 amp plugs. Some campgrounds have 50 amp plugs, and I think we get around 17 mph on those.

Such a cool video. I love how everything was done so meticulously. Yall really work well together. It created a feeling about camping that’s hard to describe in words, so you left them (audibly) out altogether, and that makes it more descriptive somehow. Just bought a rivian. About clamshell roof tents. I think I’m deducing that I can’t (shouldn’t?) get a condor xl or other big tent because it won’t fit over the bed, and may feel unstable, unsafe, or awkward over the roof/hood of the cab. Am I right in thinking I need something 4.5 feet or less?

Thanks and congratulations on the Rivian! We have been loving ours. We only really considered the smaller rooftop tents because that is all we need for the two of us (both around 5' 8') and it has been very comfortable. The other R1Ts I've seen on the road with RTTs have been similar in size to ours, but we've seen larger tents on some R1Ss.

I think you should give a bit more freedom to your dog. The dog will not run away. Its also less work to keep watching him.

We tried letting him off leash a few times and he inevitably eats something that makes him sick. I’ve had to pull a partially decayed rabbit leg out of his mouth while camping before.

Love your setup and enjoyed the peacefulness of your video!! One question, I'm not seeing to many videos or people that opt for the Rivan Camp Kitchen. You guys have any opinion on that, or of heard good/bad reviews? I like the idea of an "all in one", but not seeing much reviews on it. Anyway, keep the videos coming! They're very relaxing!

I’m glad you’re enjoying our videos. The official Rivian camp kitchen is not available for purchase, and there is no clear timeframe for when it will be. There are some 3rd party options available. I’ve heard good things about the Thunderbolt Adventure Supply one. We like using propane for cooking anyway because we can also use it to fuel the heater we use in our tent. Plus we try to keep the truck powered off as long as we can while we are out. We turn it on to charge an external battery that we use to charge laptops, starlink, lights, etc…
