In the act of an accident, initial velocity (starting velocity) is equal to final velocity into acceleration x time so according to that, we should use the formula u = v - at v = 300 km/hr, the unit for velocity is ms^-1 hence, v = 300/3.6 (1km/h = 1000/3600) Which implies v = 83.3 ms^-1 and a = 8.3 ms^2, so the initial velocity is, u = 83.3 - (8.3 • 10) Which implies that u = 0, hence the car was at rest at initial. For final velocity, change the places of u and v, then, v = u + at which is calculated as, v = 0 + (8.3 • 10) which is, v = 83.3 ms^-1. Now let's come to the probability point, there are four probability, Gopal getting killed below the truck, thrown against the truck, run over by truck, car kinda flying outwards after impact, so totally 4 probabilities, S = {below, thrown, run over, flying outwards} n(S) = 4 So let event A be: Gopal getting killed below the truck, n(a) = {below} So the probability of Gopal dying under the truck is P(a) = n(a)/n(s) which equals, P(a) = 1/4 which is 25%. In conclusion 1) initial velocity: 0 m/s (at rest). 2) final velocity: 83.3 m/s 3) probability of him dying under the truck: 25%
