One more tip: if you are a beginner, don't focus as much on complex anatomy practice drawing 3d shapes before each session, these are the fundamentals. And also try using the hard round brush for a month, your drawing will suck A LOT in the beginning (it makes you more aware of your mistakes) but keep at it and you will see a lot of improvement

congrats on your progress!, the single most important tip i can give is to observe stuff IRL, its all in the shapes and how they obscure or go on top of one another. Also that you think your heads look "off" is a sign of this, you are grasping that it doesn't look right because it clashes with what you have on your VISUAL library (yer head), so if you refine that, either by a method that you apply to whatever you are observing, or just straight up BRUTE FORCING it through A LOT, of IRL observation, youll naturally be able to "fix up" mistakes you notice on your drawings. on anatomy. the connections are basically THE most important part, if you connect the body right, the rest can be a bit weird but it'll look better than a photo realistic limb attached poorly to a body. this is because, again, the shape as a whole is what we register on an instinctual level. also it is frustrating trying to quick draw, yes, but it lets you reiterate on your mistakes, especially if its for different poses. because you HAVE to focus on making the whole "shape" look the best with the least amount of time/lines. the idea is not to fully render these (detail work), but to make them look "natural for their pose,proportions and style", so even a faint outline or simple lines work. hope to see more of your videos! stay strong!

With the hands, you can keep in mind that the fingers as a whole are about the same length as the palm, and that with each finger, the first joint is halfway up the finger, and the second joint is halfway up the remaining half of the finger, basically leaving it like one half length, and then two quarter lengths

Around 10 minutes in you say a comment said that spending too much time to make one really good drawing is worse than just drawing several things. I don't know how true that is, there's probably nuance to it. I don't think what you did as an exercise because of it is bad, but you should definitely like look at what you're trying to do and don't take it as some end all be all comment. Let's keep on drawing! 😊

Love the progress I’m glad to see you continue drawing!! A tip that might help your perspective drawing that I have would be to use the coil method. You draw a tube from above or below then add coils through the tube using that tube you can visualize the limbs and body easier. The perspective will look much better if the lines of the body curve down or up with perspective. An example would be the eclipse drawing you made the girl would look more 3d if you curved the line of the clothes with the form of her body. Good luck keep drawing :D

Hey there man, congrats! I'm honestly always very impressed with videos like this, the process of how people learn new things is really interesting to me. I think what you're doing so far is phenomenal as far as progress and learning goes, well done! Some things I can suggest however is learning color theory and how to work the color wheel. Color theory really helps your art pop and can make your pieces more interesting. I would love to see you work with an analogous color scheme (3 colors that are next to each other on the color wheel) or a monochromatic piece! (Which can be either black and white, but also can be a piece where only 1 color is used, since technically black and white arent real 'colors' . Black is the absence of light/color while white reflects colors, but then again this is just the artsy fartsy stuff, black and white can still be considered colors lol) I think also working on your composition in your pieces (unity, rthym, movement, contrast,emphasis etc.) will benefit you in the long run too. Overall I think you're heading in the right direction! This is just some advice I can give as a current AP art student, just most importantly remember to have fun and make fun art pieces because *you* want to : )! Sometimes breaking the rules of art can be fun, just let yourself be creative! A good quote I like to keep in mindwhen I draw art is 'comparisson is the thief of joy'. Never put yourself down and compare yourself to others for just starting out, a lot of us are very proud of how far you've come in just 30 days! P.S whenever shading white, try using a lighter shade of blue! Its more interesting than using gray : D

Your progress is really impressive! My main piece of advice for animating is to draw very loosely, sketchy figures over and over and over again. You can use sites like line of action or even videos of people doing things and just, sketch the poses as quickly as you can. You start with maybe 5 or 10 minutes, and then after you've done a few you reduce the time, forcing you to be decisive with your lines. Animation takes ages, and you need to be quick, especially if you're going to do the entire thing yourseld (as opposed to specializing in cleanup or acting for example), so you need to not be too focused on the details, mostly the main shapes. Knowing a character's design really well and being able to draw them from any angle is really helpful, and for that I'd say make model sheets and expression sheets, updating them often as you learn to draw that character better, to ensure the design stays consistent and the proportions too. Animation is a lot of fun (and drawing in general too), and it's really inspiring to see you do these videos :)

if you want to improve alot , you should tr learning perspective , in specific learning how to draw a cube from any angle from intution , danbeardshaw on youtube has a playlist on his channel that goes all over the perspective fundamental , after that you should learn drawing from intutiion , practice cylinders spheres and cubes , if you practice for long enough you willl be able to draw them from intution , also there is this channel named philips art , who made a 40 minute video about understanding perspective , its not that helpfull at first, but it will get you to understand why the perspective rules exist , the second video is great perspective practices why learn perspective? perspective teaches you how to draw cubes cylinders and simple shapes , if you are able to draw these you are able to break down anything to them , which means , you are able to basicly draw anything

Incredible progress you're having 💞 how difficult would you say it is to transition from traditional art to digital? I plan to make digital art in the future but i don't have the money to buy the necessary equipments for start drawing digitally. So I'm sticking to traditional for the time being. However i'm a little worried that i might have to re learn everything from scratch and not be able to apply my traditional drawing techniques on the digital art program 😭
@leaptriesit
@leaptriesit 2 ай бұрын
I only did 30 days of traditional, so it was probably easier for me since I haven't been established in traditional. You said you were only 33 days into it as well, so i'm pretty confident it shouldnt be a huge leap for you unless you wait a long time. Granted everyone adjusts differently so you won't know until you try :D I wouldn't worry about having to start from scratch, the fundamentals are all the same, just applied in a different way. The tablet I got was like 50 bucks on amazon, and clip studio paint gives you a free month to try it. Beyond that you shouldn't need much else to start out. But I understand if finances aren't in your favor. There are probably cheaper tablets out there though. Good luck out there, soldier 07

Artistic nudity is not porn. Drawing nude models is actually a great way to learn human anatomy, as well as drawing different body shapes. I also advise using references to build your visual library and draw studies... a lot of studies! My recommendations: Michael Mattesi (he mostly does gesture but it's extremely helpful for improving your line confidence), Glenn Vilppu or Michael Hampton (for anatomy).

A couple things you could do to get better at drawing in general and that are key to become an animator (since an animator draws all kinds of things from all kinds of angles) is to understand the drawing and be able to draw whatever you want, for this, I would highly (SERIOUSLY) recommend that you to start drawing with a pen (that you can't erase) and from observation in images or real life so that you can stop worrying about minor mistakes and memorize the human body or any other objects from your daily life, but before that, practice drawing basic 3D shapes like cubes and cylinders that can help you later getting the shape of a more complicated object broken down into simpler and smaller shapes. Don't be afraid of drawing lots of naked people non stop and good job, keep up the good work!!

if you ever struggle at moving on from drawing to drawing i advise using pen because if you made a mistake there's no erasing so you will have no other choice but to make another one. i think drawing 10 more pen drawings can make you improve rather than staying on a single drawing trying to fix it.

About watching more than drawing, that is NOT bad. You can't draw something if you don't know how it looks like, it's all about observing!!! The more you use references and observe how things look from real life, pictures, movies, videos, etc, the better you will be able to draw it. even without a physical reference, if you have observed something enough, you will be able to form a good mental image of how it looks and be able to draw it better.

I already commented on the last video but another like tip you could use is: when sketching it's easier to draw a stick man and then the other shapes on top, it makes the pose a bit less stiff imo. Also you could check out some videos on foreshortening, personally I draw coils but there are plenty of other techniques out there. Otherwise you're doing awesome!!! Oh and drawing nude is actually pretty important, it's like a whole course in art school. There's nothing lewd or anything about it.

You're doing great!! A little tip for proportions of the head. It's a little hard to explain but anyway. When you draw a cross for the head, the horizontal line is for the eyebrows (that's why the eyes seemed too high). Proportions are based on halves. If you draw a line in the middle of the whole (with hair) head you get the eyes. Divide the lower half of the face and you get the bottom of the nose, divide that you get bottom lip. Another thing is the ears are proportionate to the eyebrows and nose (they start at eyebrows and end at nose). And also when drawing a profile, if you divide the head vertically (left and right half) you get the ear + jawline. The rule of halves or whatever is also applicable to the body but I'm pretty sure you already mentioned that. I'm sorry if it's badly written, English is not my first language and it's also a little hard to explain without drawing it. But overall super impressive progress!! I'm looking forward to seeing you continue (if you want to)
