smite never reached its potential because it is a new studio. They are not able to fix matchmaking, bugs, character balance, and the most important thing, THEIR BANNING SYSTEM that trash sucks they literally do not listen to what players have to say or the rating on the server. they just ignore those facts and then they be like: smite is triving!'' more like nah fam i used to have a full party of 5 friends playing smite now only 1 of them is still playing the game, i uninstalled the game every since the newest map was on cause i literally got tired of their banning system, beacuse i wouldnt stop meeting same trolls who would feed or suicide on pourpose go afk for months in a row. and they wouldnt get banned even if i left comments. the amount of bugs i found the amount of screenshots of people threatening my life in game sending me dms they would just go, just block them. bro the most toxic community not even worth spending my time in. it is just such a sad game i would recommed hirez to sell the rights of the game to a proper developer then it will get fun with much better mechanics less bugs, a better community as it is now it will only go downhill

The writing for this video is REALLY good. HOWEVER, the audio mixing is bad, if you fixed it, made your voice be more clear and didnt get overpowered by the odd background music, this would be the perfect smite analysis video. You barely even talk about the gameplay, and tbh, you dont NEED to. This is a very well written "hot take". HOWEVER PART TWO! You could have also talked about the gameplay, the bugs, the business practices, ect. though like I said before its not 100% necessary, what you have currently written is gold, it would still help to go over everything, it would probly only extend the video by 10 minutes if you wanted to charge through it. If you wanna go full ham on a "case study", you wanna go over EVERYTHING on it. After all, if you were to study a case, you wouldnt stop half way. Personally I dont consider 20 minutes to be very long, though alot of effort goes into a video like this, smite is a big game. Theres alot to talk about.

Smite has issued that game play and mechanics can't be fixed. First you want the main game mode to be promoted to new players. Would make it where people who are more hard core go and stick around. But like.. damn so many game modes

I agree with what you said especially since I've experienced this issues myself. With the new player experience: Everytime I recommend the game to a friend it just doesn't catch their attention to keep playing and seeing some youtubers try smite but never playing it again unlike league. Is honestly hard to think the game can grow being like this. With the international smite: I live in Mexico so the Latam part of smite 'dying' doesn't really affects me since I've always played on NA but I would have loved to have the announcer packs and voice packs of the gods in spanish wich I know I'll never have since if I remember well they even removed them completely. The IP: Everytime I talk about smite's current state with friends (and even with randoms I team up from fb groups) we ramble about how smite wastes a lot of resources releasing obviously unsuccessful spin-offs instead of improving their main game, the main thing that attracted me and probably many others to smite it being the mythology seems strong enough to make a strong IP yet it seems to be insignificant because of every other issue And about the question, What is smite to me? smite is my favorite game, the game I've spent more hours into, it gave me really good Friends and memories. I really don't want to hate on Hi-rez but it's hard seeing that they don't seem to care about this game. Great video I really hope it reaches a great part of the community and hopefully also the devs or someone in charge of the game Anyway... I just wanted to say what was on my mind about it.

Loved the video, well made. I forget why I'm subbed here to be honest but I recognized the name and this video gave me a reason to stay subbed!

The biggest issue is the advertisement, a lot of players went to lol because of the cool cinematics and them the simple gameplay and low graphics kept them. Once players get to the game Smite shouldn't focus on what makes people stay in the game but on what pushes them out.

DM and Drybear was so entertaining,, Pretty solid points tho, and the insane amount of smurfing newbies getting owned all the time..

I think they need to scrap the locked modes for new players, it both doesn't make and sense and doesn't change the fact my teammates are always gonna be bad.

I think there has to be an overhaul of new player experience like you said and big changes in server and game accessibility. Servers are always are problem with this game. Whether ping or servers going down. There aren’t any of these issues with League. Servers are even worse for regions that aren’t NA or EU. No wonder this game didn’t blow up. Not to mention China not having an up to date version of the game.

I think this covered a lot of great points. The hardest problem to overcome would definitely be the division between the different game modes, but that can be smoothed over through an increased playerbase. I think that Smite should DEFINITELY work hard on completely redesigning the new player experience. While the current system somewhat disuades smurfs and potentially protects new players from smurfs for a time, it fails to hook players with engaging gameplay early into the experience and, like you highlighted, it does not promote conquest as the core mode. This attracts a more casual audience which will be less sustainable in the long run since they are not necessarily as involved in the deeper parts of the game. There's nothing wrong with having a sizeable casual playerbase, but having a strong core playerbase is what keeps the play numbers up even through new game releases and increased competition. Overall great vid! Just work a little on your speaking and presentation skills.

I genuinely hope it isn't too late for smite, majoy things is taking away the least popular 1 or 2 gamemodes (siege, and clash) COMPLETE overhaul of tutorial with conquest as the main focus and isn't entirely focused around neith. And making sure the game works. side note for that last bit, in Oceania servers about 33% of the time you queue joust the game will not work after picking gods, locking loading it'll just kick you all back to main menu and it has been happening for years even the new map, i've reported it multiple times and they have specifically replied they will look into it but nothing ever happens so that really gets to me.
