Great insights into building a successful and fulfilling work life. The emphasis on finding your rhythm and prioritizing health resonates deeply. I especially appreciate the concept of "habit stacking", linking new habits to existing ones can make them much easier to maintain. It's easy to get caught up in the endless to-do list, but identifying and eliminating non-essential tasks is crucial for focus and productivity. Thanks for sharing.

Are these "top 10 things" lists still an effective format? It's been used for so long and I am just curious if there is any fatigue around them?
@ValuePricingAcademy4 күн бұрын
Yes, "top 10 lists" are still effective because they’re scannable, engaging, and promise value upfront. To avoid fatigue, make yours unique by focusing on niche topics, adding fresh insights, or using unexpected formats like "10 myths" or "10 mistakes to avoid."

The best thing I learned today is to use value pricing. Pricing baer on value can not become obsolete as technology advances. Only when the value disappears should the service be free.

QQ How do you recommend that bookkeepers price on self-employment platforms that clients use to find contractors? Those platforms often require contractor profiles to list hourly rates, but fixed prices can be suggested in individual proposals.
@ValuePricingAcademy12 күн бұрын
To price effectively on platforms requiring hourly rates but favoring fixed pricing, set a premium hourly rate to reflect value, then focus proposals on outcomes and deliverables rather than time spent. Use service packages or menu pricing to offer clients clear options, emphasizing how fixed pricing ensures transparency and aligns with their goals. Highlight your expertise and results, and explain early on that fixed pricing fosters trust and better results, making it a win-win for both parties.
@ValuePricingAcademy12 күн бұрын
Even better, avoid those platforms, because they are often price shoppers. There are many other ways to win clients.

Great overview. I'm intrigued by its potential to automate tasks like financial analysis and report generation. I'd love to hear more about the specific prompts you've found most effective for these tasks.
@ValuePricingAcademy2 ай бұрын
I have created several prompts for these tasks, and I may do some videos soon. However, of all the use cases for accounting firms, I think financial analysis is best done using industry-specific software tools that are incorporating AI.

Just looking at this it feels like Intuit is doing everything in its power to make the directory hard to find and instead funnel people to using advisors that are employed by Intuit. Any thoughts on this?

I think it's a great profession. And one full of opportunity for the ambitious, forward-thinking person who wants to fully embrace technology, price based on value and deliver higher levels of value to clients (which AI helps with).

Hmmm… are there any rules against charging one customer more (because they are perceived as rich) over other customers? At an exaggerated level, it seems to be predatory.
@ValuePricingAcademy4 ай бұрын
None that I know of. It's common to charge different customers different prices, and in the accounting industry - if we are linking price to value - then we can charge clients more when we create more value. Very often, there is more opportunity to create more valuable for more profitable clients (rich clients) for example, through potentially bigger tax savings and profit improvement strategies.
@Cranky_Crone5 ай бұрын
Nonsense. If a business won’t put their prices (at least a ballpark estimate) online, I’ll go elsewhere by default! It’s not even about the price, it just feels like a manipulative sales tactic. Asking for personal details for a quote is especially egregious! I use business websites because I want the info WITHOUT the sales pitch! If it’s something I want and can afford, THEN I’ll get in touch. Giving customers an idea of what to expect allows them to self-select as clients - THEY know if they’re looking for high-end/quality or cheap ‘n’ cheerful, & respecting them enough to make that decision before contacting you saves everyone’s time!
