i can't figure out how to make the 86 slide without resorting to Scandinavian flick or over-reving in a turn in 1st gear. even if i half press the break i barely get any rotation.

Hi man! I saw some old videos of yours where you’re driving an AW11. What do you think about the car now? I dream about owning one!
@PM_DraKKar5 күн бұрын
just got this notification* I plan on driving my aw11 for this up coming season of autocross. I like driving around my old mr2 since the car is about 37 years old, alot of people arent aware of what it is and gets alot of attention. Its a great little car and as long as you take care of it, it will take care of you. One of the most reliable cars ive owned.
@Shalbyder5 күн бұрын
@ thanks drakkar! By the way, do you think the Darek AW11 mod is realistic handling wise?
@PM_DraKKar5 күн бұрын
@@Shalbyder its been awhile since I last drove Darek's AW11 but if I remember correctly the first ver. of the mod was horribly oversteery to the point it was undriveable. Last Darek AW11 i drove was the S1 tuned or something? it had pretty strong front end grip and felt pretty stable even when cornering pretty hard, almost too much i think. I had a YT video when i drove the mod on the newly released Akina DH, and the front end was always the first to give up which made the car feel very forgiving imo. In my own experience of driving the local backroads, and some limited autocross experience some 3 years ago on 300tw-340tw tires, the 1988 MK1b always felt very understeery though am told this is a common theme with the MR2 models as the pre-face lift in either generation tend to be spicy and the later models more composed to make driving easier. I do plan on autocrossing my 88' MK1b N/A AW11 this season and I plan to eventually move to a meta 200tw tire like the RE71RS, my first few test events will be on the Falken 615k which is nowhere as grippy as the RE71RS but it will serve just to test the car. In a nutshell I think the S1 variant of the AW11 mod I drove tended to over-exaggerate the capabilities of the car compared to IRL (again based on my own experience with not as sticky tires as of yet). The mod had no sense of the "mid engine / short wheel base" aspect, the car always felt safe and easy to drive. It was fun as a mod to drive, but for comparison to the real thing...it might be slightly over powered IMO, but again take that with a grain of salt as this is based on my limited experience and I hope to soon find out for myself how far I can push the AW11 with better tires.

Hi so, recently I saw this vid:kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3_PeKR9fdJsp80 And I left some comments asking for a few things to improve myself, I guess its an old vid so you didnt get the notiff. Do you know someone to ask, or some yt channel or place to learn to improve fwd touge?
@PM_DraKKar4 ай бұрын
am not really aware of any FWD specific guidance for touge, however if you look up some HPD (high performance driving) academy stuff on FWD cars on track you can pick up a thing or two. Even if its not technique you learn, its the theory of driving FWD you learn. You can look at TCR cars for example and perhaps lookup a vid or an interview with a TCR driver and see their philosophy on driving a FWD fast. I wouldn't recommend TSRB btw...his content or "guides" are kinda recycled generic information that any "weekend warrior" would know about any drivetrain. Not only that but some of his info is misleading and can lead to hindering driver performance rather than developing it.
@myr_wlk6984 ай бұрын
@@PM_DraKKar I saw your also replied to the comment on the other vid, really helpful, thanks.
@myr_wlk6984 ай бұрын
@@PM_DraKKar Also shit, time to un-learn all the vids from TSRB, I found them pretty helpful and I've watched and rewatched them a lot, can you elaborate a bit on what ideas are misleading from him? I'll also check the channels you told me, but I've seen a fair bit of theory, and I meant channels like yours, I want to see the driving be put in practice, seeing touge runs helps me learn how much do you break, the lines you take in an fwd, which corners are faster to drift/grip, on which ones is better to pull the handbrake and which don't... Or just different driving techniques or styles, as long as they are fast, I'm happy to watch and learn. Also, last question, I dont want to bother you more, do you drive the eg6/ek9 with abs on or off?
@Dexter-hk3om4 ай бұрын
And now do it on normal 86,not on this piece of s**t
@myr_wlk6985 ай бұрын
Would be really helpful to see or know when or how much are you pulling the handbrake
@myr_wlk6985 ай бұрын
Oh clutch doesnt show either, when downshitfting I tend to hold the clutch while breaking and then heeltoe, is that bad? I unconsciously thought that stopping the motor reaching the tires while breaking would be better... Should I learn to flash the clutch just in the instant I shift or it isn't really noticeable to have it already pressed?
@myr_wlk6985 ай бұрын
Also you when you downshift several times in a row, you are holding the break still, isn't it better to skip gear?
@PM_DraKKar4 ай бұрын
-i usually just tap the handbrake, but how powerful the handbrake is varies between mod cars -you should just be clutching in momentarily and releasing it once you blip and goto the lower gear. -some people will skip gears but i like just going 1 by 1 on downshifting feels nicer, however in assetto corsa people can abuse the engine braking significantly and overrev the living hell out of the motor to get the car to slow down more than what would be normal. This is due to the touge life server settings not having any mechanical dmg enabled.

why tf did they allowed that bmw? isnt the point to drive slow cars?
@PM_DraKKar5 ай бұрын
@yomihpurple we were allowed to choose our own cars for the event, i opted for the lotus elise since its something not very common, but i do agree the BMW should of never been allowed prior to the event. I think the situation at the time was under even more scrutiny given that the staff who had approved of the BMW participating happened to be teammates of the BMW driver. There were other fast cars at the event for sure like the C4 West Corvette but it doesnt come close to the gorilla grip levels of the no-hesi BMW mod.

Do you feel bad racing a new car? Would you feel that way for a much older car? (Older than the MR-S) It's been on my mind that dailying something like an SW20 that's been garage kept most of its life or a Porsche 944 just feels wrong to me for some reason. Maybe I'm just paranoid of breaking something, I get that cars are there to be driven but still.
@PM_DraKKar5 ай бұрын
nah if anything its nicer to race the newer cars both from a performance and logistics standpoint. I still would race my AW11 MR2 if I had her fixed up for sure! theres plently of older cars out in autocross / track that you may not really see in my vids like CRXs and EF Civics, EG6s, older vettes, Vipers etc...

It’s about dang time they updated the servers. Kinda the whole reason I stayed away from TL. Was so tired of running the same cars I had been for years. This new list isn’t the most balanced but at least we got fresh cars!
@PM_DraKKar5 ай бұрын
I agree, I especially felt in most part no one really logged on Sadamine that much when it was on rotation. Tsukuba fruits was always a banger on TL2 when it was on that server. I also like that there are some American/ European cars added since the AC touge community only gravitate towards the same JDM cars for the server car list so its a nice change! and more eye opening for people since more cars exist than the Japanese ones. If they could add a Corvette to accompany the mustang that would be pretty cool too lol.
