I love Brandan Barash as Jake, but I wish that the writers didn't have Jake and Kate together, that is disgusting. She is old enough to be his mother, she was his stepmother. Mini Rant Warning: I know a lot of people were rooting for Miguel and Kay, and even though Fox did some terrible things in the end, in many ways he was more of a man than Miguel. Miguel ran off and abandoned his duties as a father to his little girl Maria, Fox looked after Maria as if she was his own. He supported Kay and helped to get her a job. He was going to provide everything Kay dreamed of having with Miguel: A man who would love her and be in her bed every night, give her stability, marry her, look after her little girl, and I guess the icing on the cake was that Fox was a Crane so money would never be an issue. Then Miguel comes along again and when he realizes he can't have Charity anymore, all of a sudden he loves Kay. (Thank the writers) Instead of telling Miguel to take a hike and staying committed to Fox, she cheats on him over and over and never tells him that she wants to be with Miguel. What's crazy too, is that even after finding out that Kay cheated, he fought hard to keep her, he still wanted to marry her and give her the life she dreamed about. I truly believed he loved Kay, but in the end, it was about competition for him and he lived up to the Crane reputation for deceit and trickery to get what he wanted. Fox was wrong for lying about a terminal illness and trying to frame Miguel for attempted murder, but if it weren't for that, Fox would have been the better pick for Kay. He had everything to offer while Miguel was still fucking around.
