Those cost to much to have to do all that to it. Shouldn't have to. Its a fender product.

I have that guitar. It’s great. I also have an Epiphone which comes awfully close in sound quality (but is trapped in a thick glossy finish unfortunately). I forget what my point was…. Anyway, best wishes for your recovery

Is it a true humbucker pick up? I know the newer version with 2 pickups is actually two single coil instead of 2 humbucker
@2000SkyView2 күн бұрын
The brass plate under the pickups actually lowers the 60 cycle hum a little. Love these bass videos! 🤙

I got one of these 20 years ago, for $190. It’s made in Indonesia though Neck needed a shim and the screw holes were stripped out. Once that was fixed it’s been a fantastic bass. It’s still stock and I use it a lot. Maybe I’ll replace the tuners and pickups within the next 20 years. The bridge on mine is fine

Are you one of those guitar techs that will not do a fret job on a Epiphone ,but will over charge for a set up? So what are the numbers for distance between high E and low E string to fret ? You show a list of numbers from a publication that lists Factory Spec and my measurement, what number do I use? What publication are you using? What does it matter if you play country chords or barre chords past 3rd fret. I guess thats why I can only afford a Epiphone

I have three of these swampkasters. A hidden gem. They were produced by Bill Lawrence USA not Willie Stich (Bill Lawrence). They were produced in Korea and assembled in California. I have seen these with serial numbers on the neck plate, in the neck pocket or none at all.

how do these older burns compare to the newer BMG specials? I have the 2005 Burns version, that one def took some visual liberties compared to May's actual Red Special (black switches, tremolo system/guard, etc). Not the end of the world, but was toying with the idea of getting a newer one and comparing myself.

Dave, you missed the most important adjustment on a Chet Atkins model. There are individual volume Wheels for the individual piezo pickups that need to be individually adjusted in the electronics cavity, to achieve proper tone of those models. You commented that this guitar does not sound like a classical and that's because the volume pots are wide open.
