The ORIGINAL Cotton-eyed Joe I learned in Texas in the 70s was hook-cross (the second step shown). She’s got it. I have seen some crazy line dance versions that aren’t original and are way, way too complicated. Thanks for the refresher. I remembered it correctly!

The Cotton Eyed Joe should always start out backwards and I think that is the important part of the dance. Main thing is having fun and enjoying life. Happy dancing to you and your friends.

Best dance instruction video I have seen for me yet. Might be a little slow for a quick thinker because there are time lapses in the edited segments. Great job, though for a guy like me.

Rebel Strut (AKA Sixteen Step) partner dance was choreographed by Cindy Hall and Candy B back in 2005 according to the Kickit archives.

I don’t believe in tags and restarts unless it’s really necessary. I’m an absolute beginners line dance instructor, because I love the easy dances. Thanks for checking it out.

You do not need a partner for this dance. It does help to stabilize you though.

Good times from Alan Jackson has 133 BPM. Try any 2-step kinda music with 120 BPM like Feelin' Good Train by Sammy Kershaw. I hope this helps.
