I've known all of this for a long time. It's really good that you made this video because the general public isnt as well versed into human psycology.

The psychology is that a bunch of men are closeted and have finally been exposed to the freedom of choosing to look like what they really want to look like.

Hi Strasz, your videos are always a refreshing change from a lot of the other content I see. This is obviously well researched and you seem to avoid the stereotype narratives that are prevalent on this topic. I'm sure these are a lot of work to make. Thank you for all that you do.

I remember something someone told a trans person once, that when they saw themselves in a mirror in VR chat as the other gender they felt deeply unsettled and HAD to switch back immediately, meanwhile people with gender dysphoria feel right and at peace seeing themselves in the mirror as their preferred gender. Gender dysphoria is very real.

I wish there was a virtual world that I could play. Roblox wants all of my information, VRChat requires a fairly beefy computer that I don't have, and Second life runs terribly on every system I tried.
@elsombero17472 ай бұрын
honestly, VR Chat is for me like the future version of Second Life. But a bit different since I don't run around with a human avatar but rather with a furry avatar 😂 Also VR Chat is more accessible since I was able to run it on a 80$ PC which I put together for my grandma for her Email and Facebook browsing needs and the funniest thing is that I put Ubuntu Linux instead of Windows 10 and VR Chat was able to run in non vr mode without any huge issues

trans girl here. I have a very similar realization story and it's kind of funny. Basically the whole thing that started me going down the rabbit hole that is questioning my gender, was a FNaF roleplay. Me and my friends were doing some goofy non serious family style roleplay where two of my friends were the mom and dad, and me and my other friend were siblings. A bunch of really funny stuff happened but the important thing to note here was that i played the sister/daughter. Keep in mind i had zero gender questioning moments beforehand, i just felt like it would be fun and/or funny to use a small roxanne wolf avatar and be a whiney little girl. But something happened that i wasn't expecting, i actually *liked* doing this, being a girl, talking and acting like one, being referred to as one. I began using that avatar as my main after that point and eventually ended up spending the next several months teaching myself how to sound like a girl too. It took me months of constant doubt and questioning but i've finally come to the conclusion that i am without a doubt trans, and the idea of spending the rest of my life as a woman feels very comforting. Honestly, while i obviously don't think wearing a female avatar will change your identity much, maybe try putting one on and maybe even go by female pronouns in some places if you'd like (opposite if you're a cis girl), even if you think you're cis. There's a small chance you might discover something about yourself that makes you comfortable in your own skin. Or maybe you won't, who knows? But it's worth a try i'd say.

It's unfortunate that in more recent times it feels we're starting to lose that "old internet" feel in VRC. Everything feels so ugh "moderated" compared to 2018 ever since they started shoehorning in more traditional social media features.

I mean it's basically just like a persistent multiplayer lucid dream. Those first two steps alone are already possible. I imagine with future advancement in bci technology that we will be able to record dreams and even be able to allow for joining of two or more dreamscapes, likely using a code or something. There's probably even the possibility creating games specifically to play in dreams. Either way if shared dreaming doesn't become a thing at least we have dream recording to look forward to

Hi Strasz! 🙌 I'm a college student at Goldsmiths, London, and I'm very interested in mirrors in VRChat. I'm currently conducting personal research on how VRC mirrors affect player behavior. I'm hoping to randomly recruit 30 VRC players for a simple conversation experiment. However, due to some restrictions in the VRC community, it's challenging to recruit participants randomly and scientifically. I was wondering if I could get your help. Thank you! (Since I don't have your email or the ability to add you as a friend, I'm reaching out in the comments of this video about mirrors, hoping you'll see it.

Not to be over looked is how under served the good male avatar is to the public. I spent most of my time as a banana, hotdog and skeleton because i really had to dig through hundreds of anime cat girls before i found a normal looking male avatar.

I never got why a non-trans/femboy/etc would use as his internet face an anime girl. Why do that? For me, the ideia was to put some character relatable and aspirational, as much as I think there're good anime girls, they could never be aspiracional to me, ever. There's nothing there for me to use as an internet mask. Outside trolling or some kind of gender disphoria that naver made sense to me.
