I was diagnosed with Bipolar ll. Same with me, my friends find it hard to believe I have a mental illness because I function so well. When I was most severely depressed, my psychiatrist couldn’t believe I could still function at work; however I was able to continue working as a counselor. I found psychological counseling and skill building much more helpful than psychiatric treatment. I am at a stage now where I am highly and appropriately productive. When I mentioned this to my psychiatrist, he labeled me manic. My GP , whom I saw on the same day, hospitalised me that same afternoon because I was in an angry mood for being labeled manic by my psychiatrist. She hospitalised me because my thyroid was disregulated and tried to convince me to stay in the hospital for five days. After all the blood testing was completed in the hospital hours later, a hospital psychiatrist magically appeared to give me a Mental Status Exam and clinical interview. I passed both with no observations of hypomania, mania or depression. It seems once you get a MH diagnosis and it is known to others, all your behaviors get labeled according to your diagnosis. After 43 years living with this disorder, I am doing exceptionally well and am now entering a phase of self-mastery with a reknowned self-discipline coach with years upon years of spiritual meditation experience. Finally, I feel like I am reaching towards self-actualisation, even though my doctors still view me as ill because of my diagnosis. I am reducing my medication very gradually and within a few years, I will try life without antidepressants. I persevered in getting my health back because there are things I want to do with my life and because I am fortunate to be highly motivated to lead the life I desire. I am so happy to see there are ways to leave this illness behind besides medication. Thank you Tom Wooten!

I thought and was like this too but the truth is you can think you have control for so long then bam psychosis and I'm sorry but you cannot control the fear what happens with that.. I went for over a year without meds thinking like this, but the sad truth was you can believe it, believe that fear is just an emotion. An emotion that takes your mind and makes it real, but in psychosis it's hard to know that what you think is real is in fact not. I wouldn't say that what your saying isn't true but there's alot more behind it or say it's the truth about recovery.

This is chaos control, but not in the way it is in the Sonic The Hedgehog video game series. Don't get rid of the chaos, control it, as disorder and chaos are basically the same word.

Why does this seem shadow banned? It's almost like psychiatry does not want people knowing about this. I feel like this stuff should be published and taught in the American College of Psycitrists and the Royal College of Psychiatrists. I've tried to talk to NHS psychitrists and psychiatric staff in the UK about this but they naysay and completely dispute this as a form of treatment cos they didn't learn it from the NHS. They are very dismissful of it and refuse to give it the time of day.

'I'M BIPOLAR ,IT'S A CHALLENGE BUT IT CAN SET YOU UP TO BE ABLE TO DO ALMOST ANYTHING ELSE IN YOUR LIFE"🤝🤝🤝

I just want to leave a neutral comment for all the people checking the comment session. The website Looks scammy. Didn't really find free content as advertised in the website. I am skeptical of narratives that promise a cure or an alternative or any innovation ( if you pay and leave your data too while you're at it, of course) and as a Bipolar person myself, I get the desperation in trying anything that could work even just to MANAGE one's life. That being said, I do resonate with the idea of trying to change perspective and look at the positives that bipolar mind brings. That's how I found this channel in the first place. However, it's extremely difficult and it varies from person to person. I feel the strategies one might find to do that, are just personal. I am among those people who weren't able to find a suitable medication treatment. I've been doing ok without meds, as I'm not in the extreme part of the spectrum, but depression, low energy have the best of me most days. So if you are reading this and you are in a similar place, I hope we will eventually find our strategies to cope with recurring bipolar depression and harvest the energy in the better days. Be careful of too good to be true things in the internet.

In our family, the bipolar is what causes the trauma, just that it wasnt discovered til college age, tho I am convinced it was there from birth. It was the illness itself all along that caused the difficulties, not the environment.

your definition of recovery sounds like my definition of hell. to still be *feeling* the pain just as bad even if i don't outwardly react to it (not too far off from what i already do) for the rest of my life, i just can't deal with that. i'm glad it works for some people but no thank you for me

When I’m manic I’ve so much energy, like I’m charged with static or something. This energy is so welcome after the lethargy of depression. Sometimes it’s like the energy flows out my palms into creating some incredibly abstract art that has many layers of meaning about what I experience as reality. Suppressing it is absolutely not welcome in my mind as I’m in full genius mode anything is possible and I don’t know how long it will last before I return to mundanity. I think a lot of manic episodes involve biblical revelations of the mind where ideas about reality become clear and we think up theories of everything (in science) or believe we are god. In this god like state am I going to listen to someone telling me to calm down and take the meds. People need to listen to folk when they’re manic as I think they just want to be heard.
