Thanks for this! How do you make the spring clip tighter? I'd bought a replacement clip and have put it on the light but it's not springing down to make the light stay in place. Would trying to stretch out the spring help?
@HumbleIdeas
@HumbleIdeas 23 сағат бұрын
The metal quality and the number of turns determine the strength of the spring. I.dont think you can change it easily. The replacement spring should match physically the old spring or else it may be quite difficult to achieve the same effect.

Hello, I'm buying an old PSR E233 worth $70. The seller said it was bought overseas and had never been used by her kids. Model doesn't have touch response. Is it a good deal?

The feel of the keyboard is important. Professional keyboards are very comfortable to hit, there is a nice bounce, just very good feel. It's hard to know if the keyboard you are buying is suitable. However for $70 it's reasonable and there is nothing much to lose. You get a learning experience if you are not satisfied and the next time you will be very much more discerning. Good luck. @HumbleIdeas

That's not covered in the manufacturer manual. However from my experience, I actually did encounter a case where the Leds blinking happens when I was checking an extension sockets strip using the Habo tester . On thorough investigation, and opening up the sockets strip , I found that the Live wire connecting to the socket has been corroded. The copper became greycolor and quite brittle. Perhaps you may check your wiring quality too for your case.

Thanks you are welcomed. I don't understand what your question. You asked if you can do the hack " without new power supply"? But the whole idea of the hack is to substitute the internal battery with a new ac to DC power supply so to avoid recharge the batteries frequently. Also, the connection plug of USB is not important as the power wires can easily be soldered directly to long external wires to the new power supply.

The light I have has an all aluminum body and there is no plastic. The protruding bracket in the rim as seen in the video is aluminum too. If you have a light with plastic chassis it's definitely not a good build. If the plastic breaks, there is nothing you can do. The spring exerts a lot of force in the tabs, so if the plastic breaks it's time to buy new .

I beg to disagree. How many times you use your finger Ctrl , R, c, m, d, I ,p,c,o,n,f,I,g. After that the results is some screens length, you need to press arrow key maybe 5 times to focus on the Ethernet Ipaddress (for example) that is In total about 20 times your finger touch the keys. In the method shown in the video View Connections is accessible by just ONE key "v" and windows remembers the icon view Connection. So two strokes . When the Ethernet icon appears right click, Details, status that's 3 more. So in about 7 strokes I can see the IP address already where's you take 20. Old habits die hard? LoL 😆

Terrible video. Windows buries these settings resulting in more steps to get there. But Command Prompt is faster, you can then issue more commands (like refreshing the DHCP), and being able to display the information of multiple interfaces instead of one. And this is all off the top of my head.
@HumbleIdeas
@HumbleIdeas 23 күн бұрын
Beg to disagree. You prob don't know the View Connections SHORTCUT so the IPCONFIG is effectively six clicks away (see video). Actually you just type V in the search bar the icon will pop up. That is one click. Then add the remaining and you have six clicks to see the IP. For command prompt, typing i.p.c.o.n.f.i.g is already seven clicks. Add another few clicks to invoke comman prompt, that's ten++ clicks. After the results arrive you have to press arrow key a few more times to bring the screen to where you want to read, usually Ethernet ipaddress . So you need like almost 20 touch of the keyboard with two fingers to get the IP. With windows shortcut as per video you get the data in 6 clicks. It's 300% faster dude. 😎

@@terrybull1534 I have the impression that only real geeks use Linux. For the rest of us, it's windows. It is true, as someone commented, that IPCONFIG is buried under layers of clicks away and it keeps changing the layers when windows upgrades, I hated it. However as explained in the video, TIME'S HAVE CHANGED , or perhaps I was not aware before. The icon " View Connections" available in search bar just by typing V.... THIS IS GAME CHANGER. That is the only reason for the video. For the average Joe, we don't care about resources poor usage in windows compared to Linux. Windows IMHO is good to do basic networking diagnosis and troubleshooting as long as you can find the commands and ignore some crazy outdated warning messages windows vomits out. LoL 🤣

@@aa-fi9ks I still cannot understand it. It's about the number of keystrokes contact before getting the information. Windows has a shortcut "View Connections " icon just by pressing V and click the icon. The data for the network IP is just another three clicks of the mouse away. In this method, firstly you don't trouble your brain to recall the command name. Secondly, it is impossible to make spelling errors when typing commands as in Dos. Dos command prompt require about 15 contacts of finger and keyboard. How isn't this more efficient, is impossible for me to understand.

Grab and pull may or may not work. It depend on the quality of the rubber insulation. If you are working with Lan cable cores, the rubber is plasticised, you cannot just grap and pull. You need to nick all round. Failure to do so will inevitably damaged one or more inner copper strands.

After considerable practice and experimentation, I can strip the cable type shown in the video in about two minutes . The beauty of it is the very clean cutting. As demonstrated in the video, there is no tool on earth that can do this presently without nicking any of the inner cables. As explained in the video this is due to the assymetrical layout of the sheath housing the three inner insulated cables. Also worth mentioning is that often QC problem during manufacture can result in some parts of the insulation being thinner. Hence a strictly manual method of cutting as explained in the video, is the best option.

@HumbleIdeas
@HumbleIdeas 3 ай бұрын
I would use 6mm. Caveat. You need to drill ACCURATELY. THE hole must be clean and beautifully formed especially at the entry point. Steady hands,good drill bits. On some occasions wall quality may be bad and softer than normal causing the hole to form badly. For SDS , because they are very powerful, a 6mm bit may end up with slightly bigger diameter hole, esp if you're hands are weak and not steady so the drill wobbles a bit. If unsure,always start with 5.5mm first . You certainly would do well to get 5.5mm bits too, and find out which one works better .
