One has a whitetail tail, and the other had a mule deer tail. Its quote likely that they're siblings, so it's just interesting to see how different they are.

I was fortunate enough to actually see both of these animals a couple of times while they were together. They stayed in the general area for about 2 weeks, and they were the only two I caught on camera. I'm confident that we'll see that cow wandering around with a calf this spring. If you ever want to take a tour of our local bush world, let me know.

@@hiebertgrant Yes..I was kind of kidding. My parents used to mushroom pick up around D'arcy BC..we were always telling them to pack a deterrent of some sort because it is wild country... they didn't see a one in 20 years but they were definitely around. A neighbour came out to their garage to find a cougar sleeping on their freezer full of meat one day lol

This was from back in the summer but it probably doesn't look much different up there right now. It's unseasonably warm, and there's minimal snow yet.

Awesome! I saw your post on Savage shooter, this just adds to the perfection. I recently picked up a very old 99 is 303 that is missing the complete carrier group…😢. I have had zero luck finding one. I have contemplated trying to get a 3d scan of one and seeing if I can find someone to mill one from a CAD file…. I don’t know what the options are at this point. Great video though.

I've looked at machining some up myself and they're actually a very complicated part that just doesn't lend itself to machining cost effectively. It's a great part to cast though. If you ask around on some of the forums, you should be able to find someone that will have the parts you're looking for.

Reminds me a bit of the internals of a spring return on a stamping mechanism we use. Might take some fiddling to get the spring tension just right, but with patience, it's doable. Thanks for the full disassembly! 👍👍
