Magic moment There is something about being at a local , familiar club when your heart is open to good vibrations. This feels like it is one of those times. Amazing job. I am grateful. God bless

I'd forgotten this song... but instantly detected the Jeff Lynne touch. :) I'd forgotten he'd done the music for ONJ, though I recalled the film.
I just heard that Nicky Wonder passed on today...... damn...

This is so, so, so, so, so great. I keep coming back to this whenever I need a lift. And that ELO coda is pure genius.

..and appropriate, since ELO did all the music from the movie Xanadu.

I'd marry both of these lovely ladies and have the 'Mints play at the reception if I was as rich as Warren Buffet!

I wonder if I saw this show. Was it at Spaceland? I went to a few Wondermints shows and parties in the early '90s (including one night at Spaceland, with Brian Wilson and Nancy Sinatra). This band was superb. I also saw them last Summer in Santa Barbara, on Brian Wilson's tour. I wish they'd do another album.

Amazing band. So glad that they are affiliated with Brian Wilson. They can play everything he has written to perfection.

The other singer's name is Kim-- I regret i cannot recall her last name now. The duo sang not infrequently with the band in this period.

How absolutely fucking amazing is Robbie Rist in *anything* he does in music? The Masticators were a BAND and they just rocked so righeously, too....

Just thinking it would have been kind of funny if they'd mixed in a riff or two from Rush's take on this title.

Wow! The ever-elusive Probyn Gregory! How I wish I could have seen one of these shows. But I live/d on the opposite side of the country and wasn't even aware of the Wondermints then. Life is full of regrets.

The Wondermints have proven time and time again that they can do it all! While Xanadu is not a rock classic, this version is awesome - and Lisa Mychols is amazing. Enjoy this for what it is.

The song was written and released by "boy wonder" Keith Green, later of gospel-rock fame, when he was just 11 years old - 1963. Check out Keith's original release, played on the 45 RPM record right here at youtube.

Always holding out litmus paper for great pop music, the guys in The Wondermints are always on target. There's irony in this folks. Stop the hate posts. Those of us who played in bands around this time found great songwriting in the schlock that came before. Heck, my act used to play "S.O.S." before it was cool. We knew it was cool to begin with.

Lisa Mychols is amazing. Do yourself a favor and pick up her releases. Nushu, her project with Hillary Burton, recently released "Hula". It is my favorite release of 2010. My "Soundtrack to Summer" for this year and many more.
