I was following along nicely until I came to the affixing of the top and saw that you doweled it and glued it: is wood movement not an issue where you live? 🤔

The wood was drying to 7 % dampness, and of course i was a little sceptical at this point. But the desk ist about 4 weeks now in my bedroom with temperatures of 24 celsius, and nothing happens since yet. But thank you for your helpful comment👍, kritik is sometimes better than accolade

Instead of all that sanding, just invest in a hand plane, man. Would take you about 1/60 the time and you'd get a better result.

One cut the other way, down the grain with a hand saw would save you a lot of time. Halving joints are supposed to be quick. Would be fun to put a straight edge along those pieces, think they might say something interesting 😅
