The best HPS both in terms of performance and especially in terms of lifespan, reaching 45,000 hours on average, truly impressive and almost the same lifespan as LEDs, but LEDs are just words! Was this HPS 70 or 100W?

Someone had injured themselves when it was dark in the evening. Now they decided to use white light to prevent further accidents. It’s only temporary.
@HIDSON-TPIA5 күн бұрын
Yellow light is safer and generally better at night outdoors because when it rains and fogs it shines better and yellow light penetrates the fog, but yellow has a disadvantage, that you can't see objects accurately, but yellow light is excellent at night, but not the monochromatic orange-yellow light like old decade of 70s-90s when the roads were mainly with low pressure sodium lamps! and I don't think the problem was the lighting, who knows what came in front of him or if he lost control of the vehicle it's not the lighting's fault unless it was very little which usually mercury lamps give very little light, but high-pressure sodium lamps usually illuminate streets well thanks to their high efficiency, there are studies and moreover they have shown that high-pressure sodium lamps are suitable in these conditions, and besides the fact that high-pressure sodium lamps emit significantly less blue light, which can help with sleep and in residential areas where white light is sometimes undesirable, while with high-pressure sodium lamps this never happens, and the fact that with LEDs the sky no longer darkens completely, especially in areas near large cities, while with HPS this had never happened and I am observing it with LEDs now!
@AsXSn5 күн бұрын
@@HIDSON-TPIA 828 light temperature isn't worse, also CDO has very similar efficiency to HPS except 250W CDO version
@HIDSON-TPIA4 күн бұрын
In terms of the light output of CDO bulbs, it is better than HPS bulbs, but CDO bulbs are not efficient. When they reach the end of their life, CDO bulbs will lose up to 30% brightness, which is quite a lot, while HPS bulbs will lose a maximum of 15-20% brightness at the end of their life, which means that CDO bulbs will dim as they age, while HPS bulbs will still shine quite well! and why pay twice as much money to get cdo lamps that are only better in light and a little more efficient than hps at low power 50 and 70w is not worth cdo since hps is the same and better, only from a mercury lamp or metal halide to a lamp in cdo only then is the upgrade worth it, but the only thing that competes with hps is cpo which also maintains its luminosity at good levels like hps but costs too much and only works with electronic control systems and beyond the fact that hps lamps are much safer in terms of explosions, hps will never explode for no reason even if it is at the end of its life only if we do it on purpose like if you put a 100w lamp in a 1000w ballast and not like cdo lamps and especially metal halide lamps they can even cause damage or injury !!! Of course, CDO is good, but its use is required and recommended in closed luminaires, while HPS can be used in open luminaires without any problems, and besides it seems that cdo was used very rarely compared to hps which was used even on sidewalks.
@HIDSON-TPIA4 күн бұрын
CDO is worth upgrading from HPS only at 50 and 70w, but at 100 and 150 it is the same or rather a little better HPS at 150W which at 250W now CDO loses the game and let's not talk about LPS which even today in 2024 and 2025 is still as one of the most efficient lights that exist on the same level as LEDs but the monochromatic orange light is a big disadvantage and a big problem but extremely good in areas with often limited visibility which were used even in southern Greece, even though southern Greece has nothing to do with these weather conditions compared to more northern countries
@HIDSON-TPIA7 күн бұрын
CDO is not worth comparing to HPS because it costs twice as much, lasts the same or can last less than HPS and has the same performance as HPS or even slightly more efficient HPS is mainly at 250W and 400, 600 and 1000W where there is no comparison with CDO because CDO exists/is sold in wattages of 50, 70, 100, 150 and 250 W while HPS is 35, 50, 70, 100, 150, 250, 400, 600 and 1000W of course there are some strange models that PHILIPS had released in the past 110 and 220W

LED armatures had long delivery times, so we had to go with SGS instead.🫶
@yvescantineau337413 күн бұрын
Hello. I agree that we need to save energy, but nevertheless LED is not at all ideal for public lighting. You just have to drive in any place and especially on motorways, to be blinded by this lighting. In addition, in case of fog or light rain, it causes a very dangerous luminous halo due to lack of visibility!!! And to finish the problems of drivers that blow very often, especially with storms, frankly this technology is still far too fragile!!! Lighting with high or low pressure sodium vapour technology was really better!!! Kind regards. Yves.
@Skyworkss12 күн бұрын
Yes, that’s true. Everything has its pros and cons. LED consumes less energy but also has its downsides. But if I had been the one to decide, I wouldn’t have switched to LED haha 😜
